This can't be! Well if they didn't add anything from the last PES(which was missing a lot of features compared to the older ones) then I don't blame them not liking it. The gameplay is still addicting and I still play Winning Eleven 9 more than any other game.

Yeah it's a disappointing score for Pro Evo.

Playing a football game without Andy Grey in commentary is like eating a hot dog without a sausage. These scores do not surprise me even one bit.

Yeah I agree, the commentary is Fifa's main appeal. It's certainly better than the gameplay.

PES fanboys crack me up. So it's FIFA's fault PES sucks now  Lets face it, once Andy Grey joined the FIFA team PES never had a real chance of staying #1.

1 word from Andy Grey's mouth is better than 100 hours worth of PES gameplay.

What are you talking about, PES games have always bum-raped Fifa games gameplay wise. This one is no different, have you played the demo? The only reason why it got a low score was because nothing was really added and the price is not worth it.

If you want the ultimate Soccer/Football experience its STILL this game. Its just a shame they changed little but the incredible depth and just overall fun make this game as good as it ever was. Well on 360 and PS2 that is

In terms of fun and on pitch fluidity, it has ALWAYS be king. Fifa seems to never match the flow and dynamic way the PES games play however much they add to the career mode.

PES is still king

What was the last FIFA game you played and on what platform? Anyway system wars rules apply to PES same as any other game. No exceptions.

I dunno what you mean by the system wars rules comment. But yeah I've played Fifa 2003 on PS2, and this year's one on Wii and PS3.

Fifa is about as close to real football as Sensible Soccer. If you want lame music in the menus, repetitive gameplay, no tricks or moves, slow-paced uncompetitive gameplay then go for EA's long running cull of the beautiful game Fifa.

I guess that the PES PC mod that replaces teh commentary with fifa commentary of ANdy Gray will simply nullify your point?

Why is anyone surprised, X360 has proven time and time again, multiplatform games are best on its hardware. Most ports to the PS3 either has less texture, lower resolution, bad frame rates, or lower geometry then 360 ports. All issues can be directly correlated to more useable memory(512-490 VS 512-426) better CPU for game code(3 VS. 1-6 useable DSP's)shaders (48 VS 32 PS-8VS) and more polygons per second (500 Mil-6Bil VS 375Mil- 750Mil). The only thing the PS3 has on the 360 is storage (25+ GB vs. 8 GB) and probably physic and sound.

Agreed 100%. Seriously they keep improving the core game leaps and bounds but it never comes near to be fun or as nail biting as PES. Seriously, winning by a single goal is an achievement EVERY time

I posted this in the other PES thread.....which is dying as we speak...

"Pro Evolution Soccer 2008's graphics are all over the place. The Xbox 360 version has the appearance of an upscaled Xbox game, but apart from fewer jagged edges, there's little to show off the new console's power. It also looks more washed-out and less sharp than the PlayStation 3 version of the game."

from the 360 review...

so the PS3 version looks better huh... ok I'll take that..... mine should arrive today or tomorrow... I can't wait.... the only complaints others have of this game are slowdowns during replays and free kicks...... so I'm not too worried... the PC version just got patched today... and it runs smooth now all around...online as well.......so I'm sure the PS3 and 360 versions are next......

others who own the game say that it plays great....besides the slowdown during replays...... So I won't take this review that serious....... we PES gets released in the U.S.... I'm sure there will be different review scores.....so take this score for what you want...

I will say that Fifa is not as bad as I thought it would be..... its accually pretty good...so thats nice to know.... I hope those devs keep it up.... its good to have competition..... It brings out the best in ProEvo and has apperently brought out the best in FIFA.....
