Yah! Nobody judges teh cell.
Too many people judge simply by scores. Even if I disagree with the points awarded it doesn't change the fact that Gamespot reviews are the most professional around. For example, I don't think Duke Nukem Forever is as low as a 3, but its hard to argue with Kevin's review itself. Written review > score
BTW, I know this isn't really the point of the thread, I just wanted to state my point since a lot of people have been angry with the scores given lately.
I use Gamerankings and metacritic because they average out all the reviews. I never rely on just one reviewers view of a game. Are they credible?

GOD HAND!Gamespot is like ign. Some of their reviews are good. Some are terrible and are clearly are just unhappy editors trying exaggeratehow bad the game is for vews.

A 3 for that game is a load of crap!
With all reviews, Gamespot or otherwise, I judge the score they give on a range of +/- 2; if Gamespot gives a game an 8, in actuality the overall quality of that game lies somewhere between a 6 on the lowest end and a 10 on the highest. In other words, I don't take Gamespot's reviews literally, but rather as a general marker of what the game is actually like.
Um how ? infamous 1 provides great fun gameplay, a shocking cliff hanger, and excellent environments . wiis AA typicaly belong there like redsteel 2 and nsmbI can't beleive they gave infamous a 9.0, the game is a joke. Many Wii games that scored 7.5-8.5 are so much better.

That's not really better because their are some ridiculous scores that skew the average anyway.

I always read the reviews that have higher or lower than normal scores compared to all the other reviews that are averaged in for any given games. I know all to well about reviews that are just haten to be haten and happy go lucky fanboy reviews as well.[QUOTE="AntiType"]Um how ? infamous 1 provides great fun gameplay, a shocking cliff hanger, and excellent environments . wiis AA typicaly belong there like redsteel 2 and nsmbI can't beleive they gave infamous a 9.0, the game is a joke. the game was bloated with copy $ paste quests(they made another bus and are shooting everyone?!?!?), unchanging enviornments (err... the sewers... again?) LAUGHABLE good/evil descisons (hmmm help hanging man or leave him to die?????), Silly story, bugs galore and absolutly no consequenses for dying. I would have felt ripped off if I had not gotten it for free.
NSMB was WAY more fun and polished than inFamous.
GameSpot reviews are irrelevant imo. The scores moreso than the actual article. You can find some useful information in the article most of the time...

How can you bash infamous 2s optional side quests as repetitive then claim nsmb isnt just a repetitive remake of past 2d super mario bros.Never played inFamous 2, am talking about the first. You are doing the exact same thing in those sidequests, in mario, from the first in the 80s, till the latest, the level disegns have always given players something new and different.

Sorry I got mixed up and placed the 2 in there by accident. Yes I know what your referring to when you talk about repetitive infamous side missions ( surveillance equipment, destroy the bus, get two the check point as quick as possible etc0. However marios 2d levels while slightly different always have a same old smb 1 2 3 feel to them. The use of motion to control things in nsmbw was a nice refreshment however the series didnt offer enough new gameplay mechanics to warrant giving it a 9. Infamous on the other hand while plagued with some repetitive side missions had very unique main missions in a very unique setting.when they gave big rigs 2 the lowest score in gamespot history they were no longer credible....i mean it's big rigs 2

True, but I can't think of any open world game that wasn't buggy, nor can I think of any game that didn't have some bugs.

I know that, I've just been playing the game recently and it just really stood out to me. The cover system doesn't seem to want to work for me on angled surfaces, platforming can be frustrating at time (it can be very clingy and at other times the complete opposite), the view distance and graphics are average (personally I don't really care about that one, still there thoguh). I just can't help but feeling whilst playing it that if they spent a little bit more time with the game it could have been much better and it seems they've done that with the sequel :PSome would say that's when they first gained credibility. :PThey lost all credibility the moment they started to flop PS3 exclusives 8)

Infamous 2 come to mind, while the majority was giving it 90 and better score gamespot went 70+ on the game,in fact only Gamespot and Eurogamer rated the game lower than 80,been and extreme minority. PS3 games are rate against this absurd standard that no other games are rate against, this site rate Kinect sports 7.5 the same as Infamous 2,Kinect sports one of the shallowest game ever made, that basically has not replay value at all. Rated Killzone 3 lower than Killzone 2 even that Killzone 3 is superior in almost every single way,in fact gamespot readers game of the show on E3 2010 was KIllzone 3 over Halo Reach,Kirby and many other games. They try to be the elitist of rating but they loss it years ago. Please Log In to post.
