Gamespot reviews a PS3 HD Collection! (First time?!)

The Good

• The open-ended levels and fun abilities of Chaos Theory hold up well
• Chaos Theory is still visually impressive .

The Bad

• Frame-rate issues in Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow
• Gameplay systems in Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow are rote
• No multiplayer
• Occasional freezing.

Does this mean the ICO/SOTC and GOW Origins Collections will be reviewed? I hope so :)

I bought these, along with Conviction, during some Steam bundle. I think it was $15.00 total. Based off what I played of the first one I'd say this is about right. Conviction was about the same from I played of it as well.

I hope they review a good collection next time.

I wonder why this was reviewed but all the other collections haven't been. GS at least did an article addressing the GoW Collection

I like how Chaos Theory is the only thing good about the collection, though I find it in bad taste to say the game is bad because of no multiplayer, unless the originals had them.

About people asking about why this particular collection was reviewed over others, I am going to assume that GS is telling the people planning on buying this collection about the issues that will or may hinder the experience. With the other collections, they work 100%, but they are letting people know that this collection has bugs in it.

The game deserved the score it got, and GS needs to review the God of War collection.

They're worthless attempts at cashgrabs, that alone answers your question.

The game deserved the score it got, and GS needs to review the God of War collection.

OT: Kind of surprised at the score. Didn't even expect GS to start reviewing collections.

Haha... that's funny. Really it is. Because the Splinter Cell HD Collection is made up of the PC versions. They delayed the collection just to release it with tons of framerate issues. I bet they didn't even test SC1 and 2.

I'm surprised to read that "Another Flop", as this collection wasn't HYPEd at all to be another SW Flop. Flops in System Wars are for games that don't meet the HYPE, and this game had almost no HYPE at all.

I know the TC posted this to show that GS may review these collections, but I do find it surprising that Gamespot.com chose to review this poor Splinter Cell Collection instead of the other collections though. I know it's the PC versions ported to PS3, but it's still surprising they reviewed this instead of other collections. I have one of these Splinter Cell games on PC, and I have all three of them on Xbox as well (Shame XBL for Xbox is no longer working, as the MP for SC2 and SC3 were a blast.).

Why the heck are they reviewing junk like this when they ignore a lot of niche games this gen? Pretty bazaar...

I hope this means they're reviewing all collections released from now on, if this was a random selection it's a little odd they picked this :P.fabz_95

Basically the worst one, is the one that gets a review.

Sly Collection, GOW collection, Prince of Persia Collection, Tomb Raider collection were all pretty well reviewed by users and by other sites (I think PoP collection had some audio issue though).

framerate issues in an HD collection? That's kind of pathetic :? these are old games on a new console and they still can't nail a good 60fps.

Just get the PC versions. They run and play great

So Chaos theory, aka the best and only good one, seems fine. In that case, fine with me.. I do wonder why they decided to review though, weird.

i love how GS ignores all the other really good HD collections but are really quick to review the bad ones. :roll:

God of War collection turned out to be very good, this apparantely didn't so maybe it was to help warn people before they just assume it's as good? That's my guess.

That and didn't GS used to also not review DLC's? Like when GTA IV Lost and Damned came out it didn't get a review, but when Ballad of Gay Tony came out it got reviewed.

I guess this collection of SC isn't worth getting then. And why does every game that doesn't have MP good enough for editors, I will never understand it at all.

I think that this very collection made them notice how useful could be reviews of hd collections as this one for example is VERY flawed and has lots of issues to say the least , without mention the lack of online.

Any HD remake that doesnt achieve 60 fps @ 1080p should automatically receive a 6.0. I dont blame GS at all.
