GameSpot Survey: Has YOUR 360 ever failed?

With the news release of the not-at-all-shocking 360 failure rate (54%), I'm curious to find out if you've had a failure on your console. This is just a study, not a rant on why you think the PC/PS3/Wii/360 is the best.

Me personally: I'd say that the first console, I expected it to go out one day, but my first one went out the first month. Then 6 months later, another went out. Then almost a year later, it went out again. My forth one has been pretty good but I haven't left it on for over a few hours since having a few RROD is like having your car window smashed and crooks stealing a few good CDs.

Now, see how respectful we can be? There's no need to talk about how greeeeeaat the PS3 is or Wii is or PC is. And on the other hand, there's no need to defend the 360. Fact is, it has a horrible failure rate and it would be interesting to get a total look at how bad it's failing, not to make fun of Microsoft or the 360, but so maybe next time, if Microsoft cares, they will look at this huge issue and address making a quality product the next time around.

Why post this in this forum then? Most 360 users at this site don't even go into this forum and all your going to get is angry PS3 trolls clicking yes when they never even seen a 360 in person.

The POLL will not be accurate around here :lol: but I did choose no because I have never owned an XBOX 360. NOR do I plan to until Micro$oft starts making some changes in the way they do business.

My launch console failed 2 years ago, that is the only one.

Like someone already mentioned.. this poll isnt gonna work here. cmon this is system wars... lol btw i voted yes :( my friend lend me his brand new 360 :P and i was playing halo 3... then it gave me those red rings :o gave it back to him asap :oops: good thing i passed it first

nope my Xbox 360 has never failed once for me, my wiis failed a few times but thats a different story.

The people who say no to this poll will be 360 owners who has not had their console brake down and 360 fanboys who's console have broke but they wont admit it.

I bet you will get far more PS3 fanboys wasting their time with thispoll than 360 fanboys.

TC if you wanted to do a accurate poll then you would have put it into the 360 Forum but because its on systems wars then this poll is just a joke poll.

Just as with the game informer poll this will fail misserably.

1. Its an open poll any one can vote including people with no 360 ever.

2. it is not telling of the current failure rate it is telling of past failure rate.

Well, until Microsoft gives REAL numbers, we'll never know. But Giving the fact that some people, even the people you probably even know in real life, have had more than ONE 360 break is proof enough that 30/40/50% is pretty close and is just way too freakin unacceptable.

I had gotten the E-74 earlier this year.
So far, that's the only time I've had a 360 die on me.
It was a Falcon chip as well. Hoping my Jasper will be fine.

As I do not own a 360, I did not vote. I do have to say, though, that with so many people having multiple 360's go kaput, I'm surprised that no one has sued MS for a refund on the console & any games purchased. In that situation, that is exactly what I would do. It's easy to file in small claims court and you don't even need a lawyer.

Had one go about a year back due to E-74, fixed it myself (was about a month before they extended the warranty for E-74) and it just went again on the weekend with the same problem, probably have it back up in a few days. My other 360 has been going for over 2 years with no problems.

1 failed on my brother but I didn't have the 360 at the time I used to have it but it is his console.
