Gamespot's GOTY!?

Since Mass Effect and Uncharted came out we now can start seriously talking GOTY.

I made a poll for it too here... mind you I didnt put games but only Systems cause there's too many.

So feel free to pick a system OR join the Group Bet in SW Bets. But please do so ONLY in SW Bets.

If none of these teams win and a game is picked that's not on our list then all teams will not lose However, all teams must then post in a thread created by KCPP2B praising the winning GOTY that is not listed in this Group Bet.

It has to be either Mario, Halo 3, or Orange box as they scored the most. It won't be Halo 3 because that was over rated anyway, no way in hell is that game a 9.5, average single player and seen it all before multiplayer. Orange box is a compilation of games, not really fair to award that game of the year as Half life 2 is two years old.

Mario will take it easy.

As I mentioned any one who wants to sign up has to do it in the official bet thread. Anything here wont be taken.

I don't care if Crysis is the best looking game it still has some dumb AI issues, the Orange Box is nothing but a 3-pack value of a last-gen port with 2 expansions, Portal, and Team Foretress, I liked Bioshock but I don't think it lived up to what I expected to be, Assassin's Creed is too repetative, and Halo 3 is just a generic FPS compared to Crysis. This is why I voted for Super Mario Galaxy, because it's the true sequal to SM64, it has great graphics for a low powered console even if it not as good as all other console and PC games, gameplay is very solid, and it's Mario!

GOTY in my opinion will be one of the following four titles: [ Assassin's Creed (originality), Crysis (technology Warehouse), Halo 3 (financial reasons), Super Mario Galaxy (mind blowing gameplay)]

Of course, my vote goes to SMG and I don't have to state why (I'm confident you can come up with your own reason), however, Halo 3 MUST NOT win the award, it will be just too cheap from Gamespot, I mean fine, you gave the game enough credit with 9.5 and all, but GOTY, please no !!

SMG isn't last gen :| The GC controls cannot be done on SMG.

I really hope that SMG gets GOTY, but realistically speaking, it will probably be Halo or Crysis.Saxsoon

Mario Galaxy took everything we knew about platformers and twisted it in all different directions. Crysis broke the barrier in terms of what could be done with graphics. Halo 3 was.....Halo 3. It was a solid sequal...but it really didn't do anything important for it's genre.
