Gamespot's Next 10?

What do you think is the next game GS will give a 10 to?

I think it could potentially be sooner than we think.

Mario Kart 8's 2 negatives on the GS review are "boring battle mode" and "weak selection of characters". Both of those things are addressed and then some in Deluxe.

Granted it's a different reviewer, but didn't Journey get a 10 when it was re-released?

I don't know, but xbox franchise needs a 10, because thats the only console that hasn't received one as of yet.

I'd be shocked if Mario Kart 8 Deluxe gets a 10 here. Though sure, I would never have expected it for Journey's re-release either.

Anyways, probably RDR2 or Mario Odyssey.

Lol keep "awaiting" for it. Cancelsoft has thrown gaming out of the window this gen. Will it even get an AAACE this year? Highly unlikely. Most irrelevant gaming machine ever.

@aigis @iandizion713 Already finished Persona 5, that game doesn't feel like a 10. Most likely a 8 or 9.

As for the next 10, possible candidates are Mario Oddysey and RDR2

I feel 2 potential candidates for 10s are Persona 5 and Star Citizen.

Star Citizen is pretty obvious. The space combat sections are top notch. And the company seems to be dedicated to quality. The game will also contain a lot of content, replayable content.

Persona has a lot of goodwill, and the story that has been spoiled to me seems actually passable. The last Persona got a 9 and this one looks be so vastly superior to that game. I don't even like Persona, but this game looks like a potential masterpiece.

MK8 Deluxe would deserve a 10, just like the original did. It is, at least IMO, by far the best Kart racer out there and that should be respected with a 10. The negative points are silly anyway. Most Kart racers have less characters than 8 had and Battle Mode is rarely seen in Kart racers oO That's like giving an FPS a lower score because it doesn't have wall running.

Other possible 10s I can see are Persona 5, RDR2 and Mario Odyssey.

If a cart racer ever gets a 10 on gamespot I will eat my own face and livestream it.

Hard to say for sure. I have far less faith in RDR2 or SMO than anyone else here, we've seen 3 seconds of SMO and literally nothing of RDR2. Track record alone is meaningless to me.

Star Citizen is probably the closest I could guess on. The gameplay and tech demos so far have been solid, if they can bring them together anytime in this century, it could easily be the next major classic.

Pretty much this, as an wild card I wouldnt completely rule out that Divinity: Original Sin 2 will score 10, the first one was very well received (got a 9 here on GS), and from what i have seen of the second one, it seems that they have gone wayyyy beyond the scope of the first one.

The greatest lineup in the history of gaming will produce another great hit in a long line of great hits like Halo 5, Recore, and QB just to name a few with all in 4K.

Lol yeah those GREAT games than had an average score of around 7.... Not sure you understand the topic dude:)

RDR2 is the next closest game for that.

MS will save gaming yet again with the greatest games lineup in human history all in 4K.

Won't know until I see how many advertising dollars are spent on the game here on GS. lol

That aside, RDR2 would be mah guess but again, follow da money. :P
