Please stop blaming EA. There is a reason they were able to become the largest developer company there is. It is because they are able to put out many great games, I mean come on lets face it this is not like the first time a 360 multiplat game looked better then the PS3 version.
First off when did anyone say it was when everyone knew it was going to be crap since EA is crap. I still don't know why people blame the PS3 when it is a development problem. There are too many games on the PS3 and multiplatform games that are good to keep spitting out this crap.
Grow up and enjoy your game. If you don't like console A or B then just keep the silly comments to yourself.

I dunno, I already have it for PC so it doesnt matter to me. Yeah I think Sony screwed up with the Cell, why go with a new architecture now? Maybe it does have this massive amount of power, but it doesnt matter if it costs too much money to use it.
Then again, it was ported by EA, the crap-master of game development.
If anything I would get it for 360, I really dont like shooters with the PS3 controller, but I will always want to use the PS controller for a GTA game.

I agree that it is a development problem. There is some ok multiplatform games on the PS3 but i dont think any PC ported games made it on the PS3 without flaws.Fanboysblame the developers but i would say it Sony fault. They bring out a console that completely different from any other console and computer out there and just expect all the developers to be able to work out how to use this brand new system for a next gen console. Now alot of developers are getting a hang of it but you can see no-one has overcome the problem of porting old games developed for the PC onto the new architecture of the PS3.

So end result it is Sony's fault for trying to be different and making a console that is harder to develope for. That last scentence is exactly it. They were trying to be different, and since their hardware is so different it also means games have to be coded differently to opperate on the system. But it doesnt mean the hardware cannot handle a game like HL2. COD4 runs great on PS3 and it looks better than Half life2. It is the job of a developer/publisher to make the best game possible. EA obviously knows the challenges of making games for PS3, but PC and 360 are just easier. There are more experienced people who know how to make games that work on CPU hardware. But as a game developer they are also responsible for making the best product they can. Mega studios like EA do to some extent, but often they are more driven to meet marketing deadlines to justify paying for advertising than holding back a game to fix any problems.[QUOTE="Eltroz"][QUOTE="Darthmatt"][QUOTE="Eltroz"][QUOTE="ejstrup"][QUOTE="Eltroz"]Please stop blaming EA. You have a good point. Its not like they cant make games that surpase the technical quality of half life2. Those studios built their games from the ground up to work on the PS3. Evertying I've read suggests its a lot harder to take a game made on PCs and make it work for PS3 than it is the other way around.[QUOTE="flashattackfina"]it a 3.5/5blackace

Fine I will just stick to GT since that is the cow love fest right now. Yes the cars do look nice but that is it. The enviroments suck. Besides the cares the rest does not seem that great at all. So stop acting like PS3 is some graphic marvel. I know cows love the non-gameplay pics of GT but here is 2 gameplay ones and check out the enviromet. If you want prove me wrong and show gameplay pics of how good the enviroment it. Aslo the other games you mentioned are nothing great also.Amazing how hard it is to find gameplay pics. I am sure there is a reason for that.

Actually Valve was the company who developed the game and then handed it off to EA late in it's developement. So you should be blaming Valve. There was no way EA was going to fix the mess Valve made of the game in time for release. Also, the game was a PORT and not a "from the ground up" developed title like Ratchet & Clank, GT5, UTIII and all those other games made from the list of developers someone listed above.
If you create a PS3 game from scratch it can be very good. (Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Warhawk are good exampled). If you port the game over from the PC or XBox 360, it's going to be not so good. (Madden 08, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Enchanted Arms, Armored Core 4, Kane & Lynch, etc...). That's where the problem lies. Same goes with porting from the PS3 to the XBox 360.

If developers do not make some breakthroughs in the PS3 technology soon, I can see them backing away from the PS3 in the future. Plus the games they develop for the PS3 sell horribly so there isn't really any incentive.

I agree silly cows, defending PS3. Saying its EA's fault is wrong. Recently Assasins Creed runs nice on X360, but does not run as smooth as the PS3 version and both released at the same time. The Darkness lacks antialaising and motion blur on the PS3 version and they were released at the same time. It is very evident after over a year of this that PS3 is lacking in development tools and it could use that extra RAM that the OS takes up. The X360 development tools are better and has about 50 to 60mb of more availalbe RAM, which is about 10% more avaialalbe RAM and that makes a difference because theX360 OS uses less.Developers should have all their focus on making a good game. Not trying to figure out how to make something work. MS tries to make it as easy as possible to make games and sony does not. I think it's a waste of time for developers having to "figure out" hardware, when they should spend time on figuring out how to make a good game.

I think both parties are to blame. But EAs responsibility isnt as much as sony. Sony made the PS3 so different so the Onus is on them to make the development tools easy to use so developers dont have to spend extra time and money making it right. But EA still bears some responsibility. Its not like they couldnt have made the game run as good as the 360 version, they just didnt want to spend the extra time and money it would have cost to do that. From a business point it makes sense since they have to minimalize losses. So the fault does fall on sony mostly, but EA is also not willing to go the extra mile to make it right even though that are a very wealthy company. Also their internal managment practices are shady.[QUOTE="Eltroz"]EA even admitted to make the PS3 version of Madden 08 inferior to the 360. EA is to blame not the PS3 hardware. EA has a ton of gaming experience....
i hate them as much as the next guy, but if sony can't design hardware that works well with proven game makers then the end result will be subpar...
it's the hardware.... i could see your point from a newer studio or publisher, but EA? c'mon.....
