so thoe other 3 games don't need them
Article
1. Mutated people, aren't they? 2. Not Zombies. Zombies are undead. These people were cursed. 3. We don't know exactly what Sires are. But they aren't dead. 4. I guess you could call the people that become infected by the flood zombies. Though its a major part of the story so not having them would have kind of ruined the plot in the first one. (they needed to destroy the ring or else the flood would destroy everything.) in 2 and 3, they became the biggest threat to the galaxy. 5. I guess I agree. We had Geth. No need to havethe dumb and slow husks. 5. This had zombies?! I don't remember that.since what does a game need to be survival horror to have zombies? there are lot of games that have zomibes that arent survival horror. also in the expanded universe of star wars there are zombies.
Unlike those games (except RDR which I think they're over-reacting too since we don't even know what the DLC will be like) it was just a side mode. It didn't effect the game in a negative way like those did. And the people saying the Flood are good because of story, urm, couldn't they have just made a different story, hell they could've had the same one just with a different enemy, something that was actually fun...And Call of Duty Needed?
LegatoSkyheart
*looks at avi, even though THAT character isn't a zombie* Don't forget the (hated) Mortal Kombat games, Deception and Armageddon. Those have zombies as well.since what does a game need to be survival horror to have zombies? there are lot of games that have zomibes that arent survival horror. also in the expanded universe of star wars there are zombies.

Halo flood are not zombies, zombies are mindless. the flood are not mindless, they can even use vehicles, its just a parasite that mutates the body

scorpion and noob saibot arent zombies, their spectres and wraith(scorpion = spectre, noob saibot = wraith).

But I looked at your avi in reference of MK in general though. I know those guys aren't.
Like what happened to Liu Kang when he became a beserk zombie.
They forgot to list LFDDiviniuz
except L4D was based around Zombies making your Post invalid...unless LFD is something else then LOL.
I don't understand all the hate for the Flood in Halo that was my favorite part of Halo. Why do they consider anything with soft tissue and exposed muscle a zombie.infamousxii
THEY ARE FREAKIN' EVERYWHERE AND WILL KILL YOU!!!! KILL YOU!!!
I completely hated the last Mission with the Flood. UGH! Near Impossible!
Uncharted had zombies?LegatoSkyheart
Uncharted 1 apparently had them.
Yea towards the end...
And even better guys: Nazi zombies!
And i didn't know Red Dead Redemption had zombies... Does he mean the Strange Man?
*edit:
The upcoming DLC for RDR will have zombies aperantly.
Uncharted wasint zombies. Its a curse. Also RDR zombie thing is still yet to be seen and is dlc. So as long as you dont download it it wont be in the game. This list is dumb.
Wait... Mass Effect had zombies?
"Same reason as Halo – this is science fiction, not survival horror. I'm the captain of a shiny, state-of-the-art spaceship with a crew of highly exotic, highly intelligent and highly diverse aliens at my command, not some depressed widower searching for his dead wife. I'm exploring the farthest reaches of the universe, not looking for a rusty key in an abandoned hospital. Most importantly, I'm playing a goddamn BioWare game – the masters of originality in storytelling – and I shouldn't be encountering anything close to a zombie anywhere in this entire experience."
Who said science-fiction can't have zombies, or horror for that matter? Has this guy ever played System Shock 2? Guess not...
This guy seems overly distraught over zombies being in games. They are a staple of the horror iconography, and they can be integrated into almost everything. I half expected this guy to say they weren't necessary in Dead Rising because he seems to hate them so much.
The Flood in Halo and Husks in ME weren't zombies nor were they undead. And they were necessary to their respective storylines. :|
Seriously, this is terribly formulated.

i agree i thought the Flood was fun to fight and added some good variety
that said, i wished they had done it a little more Starcraftian and made the Flood more sophisticated and evolved in the sequels than just "one or two" new units that basically still do the same thing

Uncharted Spoilers
Uncharted had Cursed Spaniards in it with clues leading up to them. The actual treasure in it caused the transformation, and early in the game Sully (an NPC) even asked if the cave drawings were of humans. That was just one of the clues. However, it was actually pretty funny to see people freak out about these things, and how they "came out of nowhere", even though the game had plenty of clues leading up to them. I enjoyed the element, and thought it tied in well to the plot. Plus, it's not like they were around for much of the game. Not to mention, the best way to take those things out was to run and gun with a shotgun, as opposed to the video on GameRadar.
No, just bring back Mutant League Football. Come on, EA. Do it!games that do need zombies:
Madden
Riverwolf007
games that do need zombies:
kinectimals

Suggestion for Charlie Barratt (writer of the article): take a little break from games with zombies or zombie-like enemies. He obviously needs it.
Personally, I'll keep playing those games as long as the existence of zombies make sense to the fiction of the game.
