Gamestop employee's talk trash about ps3 and super mario sunshine

I was calling gamestops as a joke asking them all dumb questions , but i asked an employee if the ps3 was any good he said

"it's got really good graphics , but guitar hero 3 is the only good game out on it right now : and it's out on the other systems so that kinda sucks " and started talking about how it has no games but eventually they will come out - and they keep getting pushed back (maybe he's refering to mgs4?)

i didn't mention to him that ps3's don't have a 1/3 chance of breaking like a certain console - but it was pretty funny

also i called another gamestop and an employee told me that mario sunshine sucked !

and anyone that complains that it sucks (probably simply because it's a harder mario game) is lame. I've played the game, just cuz it takes a little skill is n o reason to put it down

I went to EB on tuesday to buy an Elite, had a few questions to ask and you want to know what her answer was to my questions?

"I'm not an xbox fan so I don't know, I like Playstation"

I couldn't freaking believe my ears! ifthey don't know about the merchandisethey are selling then why are they there?

then she told me how xbox merchandise is expensive, how it takes about a month to get your xbox if you send it in for repair, I just wanted to get the damn system and leave.

what I really needed to know was about the transfer cable, so I can put all my stuff from my old 360 to my new Elite, so since she didn't know she called another store, and I hear her say.

I know right! you don't have an xbox either! like she was trying to imply no one would bother owning one.

shoot, I also remember going to a gamespot to buy a game for the original xbox and when I told the guy what game I wanted, his co-worker looked at me and said.

"you have an xbox? I feel sorry for you" yeap, thats exactly what he said.

they come in all shapes and sizes, honestly, I have never been to a gamespot or ebgames that the workers pushed nintendo systems or showed fanboyism towards a nintendo system, but I'm pretty sure they are lurking out there somewhere.

People need to realize that just because someone works in a game store, doesn't make them game experts. They're in a min wage job and don't give a damn any more than a Walmart or fast food employee. They just want to work there for a discount and so they can play the demo units when it's slow.

WOuld you expect McDonald's employees to know all about what is in the burgers or where the beef comes from? No. You just expect them to assumble it per directions and then give it to you.

This seems to be talked about a lot here. People think that just because some kid works in a game store he must be a hardcore gamer or know everything about the industry and hardware. I've never found that to be true...or it's rare. Mostly it just seems like a fun and easy job.

as a successor to SM64 yeah it may have been a disappointment, but that doesn't mean it sucked, it was still one of the best platformers last gen.

I don't care what it got, the game blew. Period. Why do you think Galaxy returned the the SM64 formula and not continue the one from Sunshine? Problem with Sunshine is that it focused to much on you cleaning instead of actually being Mario. Which is why its a failure in my book.

I don't necessarily always agree with Gamestop employees, but it's nice hearing their opinions. Most employees are indeed gamers themselves and do have opinions about different games. It's actually a relief to hear an employee tell soccer moms not to buy a game for their kid because it sucked, especially if it's true. They will actually ask how old the kid is and what else they are in to before spitting out suggestions.

This is one of the few things about Gamestop that I appreciate.
