Gamestop VP: PS3 sales "Very Strong" through October..

I'll wait for NPD. If PS3 isn't in first then this thread will have not mattered.

I laugh because its silly. Even in the wake of the PS3 price cut, the PS3 has not dominated at all. Its just done well. Sony dominating like the PS2 days is just silly. The PS3 is not the PS2 and it never will be.

There is no guaruntee that the PS3 will last for ten years nor is there a guaruntee it will sell at least 100,000 units each month.

While it is safe to assume that it will sell more than 100,000 units each month, it is not safe to assume that it will last ten years nor that it will "dominate."

Not entirely surprising -- the PS3 had the most meaningful price-cut and strong momentum with quality games and blu-ray releases. It'll be interesting to see how the consoles stack up come NPD time, and whether Sony can sustain these strong sales throughout the holidays and beyond.

Well duh, what he said is false however. Off by60 million units, not to mention thinking the PS2 and PS3 have outsold EVERYTHING is ridiculous. All the gens before NES and handheld systems whichby themselves (GB, GBA, DS) trump Sony's efforts.I know who sold the most systems. I mean, we have limited to consoles opposed to systems since the Wii, gameboy, DS, and NES would have that number beaten and nintendo have sold the most units. Its trivial but its wrong.
