so im trying to make this decision for a couple months now and i came to you guys for your opinions. i already have an xbox 360 and love it and about a 3 year old laptop, cant really play games. so i could build a gaming pc for about $1000 and have a huge library of games i want to play or get a ps3 mostly for little big planet, socom, bluray and maybe few others that will come out and its also cheaper. so what does you guys think?

If you want Blu-ray then it is a no brainer...get a ps3, but if you don't then go PC. Not worth the cash for just a couple of exclusives. I have all 3 systems, and find myself enjoying the PS3 for BR and not as much for games. Most of my games in 360.

So you just said that you'll be playing more games on your potential PC than on your potential PS3?

Go for the PC.

I built a decent gaming PC a few months ago, and I love it. I do own a PS3 as well, but I mostly use it to watch blu-ray movies at this point. If you own a HDTV, my vote would be for a gaming PC with a blu-ray drive. Problem solved.

I have both the pc and ps3. In my oppinion i mainly play consoles, because i don't have to worry about constantly getting new parts for my PC because i want the most beastly pc ever just to play all the new craziest game on high end graphics. I stopped doing that a long time ago.

Bottom line, just get a PS3, you can't go wrong with that. It has blueray, and many other things that i like about it.

if lyou like rts games, space sims, mmos then the answer is simple.......PC

if you like your games cheap and want it to look the best........PC

if you want to play with a controller or mouse..........PC

if you want to sit at a desk and play or play on the TV........PC

be honest i have a PS3 and it gathers dust. all multiplats i buy are on the PC cause they are cheaper look better and i can choose the control scheme.

If you want to play metal gear solid 4 and LBP then the PS3.

if you want crysis warhead, witcher, sins of a solar empire, x3 terran conflict, world in conflict, warhammer online, stalker etc etc......PC

I love it when people talk about PC hardware that know absolutely nothing. 1. That "old tech" will run every game at highest settings for at least the next 2 years (provided you get a high end one now) and 2. I guess by that same definition that PS3/360 and especially Wii are useless at this point seeing as all were outdated even before they were released in terms of hardware.

TC, go on Newegg.com, look at hardware prices. $700 - $1000 gets you a very high end gaming PC that's at least 2x more powerful than any console. Hardware is also much cheaper than usual due to the ATI/Nividia and AMD/Intel price wars. Everything is getting cheaper, even more so than it already was low priced for what you're getting.

Or you could pick up the EA Crysis PC if you wanted for the $700 which will run any game for a long time as well. Then, after those few years with either PC you get, a few hundred dollars upgrade (depending on what hardware you get at upgrade) and you got a top of the line Gaming PC again for the next few years.

Do you have more friends with PCs or PS3s? In the end, all that matters is what games you can play, and whether you can play them with your friends.

no he was stateing why that person called the PC a console....

Also since when has PC gameing hardware go outdated in 6months? Mabye if you buy a really bad PC for like 300$ then ya. Its always best to buy a PC withen the 700$-900$ range. Its the best way run most games that are new.

Indeed. That same PC is also (at least in that price range) going to be at least 2x more powerful than any console out there in terms of performance and should run all games at max for the next 2 years at least (didn't have to upgrade mine until about 2 and a half years).

Definitely go with Gaming PC.
