Gaming question, preordered PS4, but what portable system to acquire?

I'm primarily a PC gamer, and I already preordered my PS4 Launch Day edition with Watchdogs and extra controller, but I've been looking into possibly acquiring a portable gaming system. I was actually looking at the 3DS for a change of pace for me, and maybe get into the old school Nintendo titles I've long not played such as Zelda, Mario, etc. Do you guys think getting a Nintendo 3DS to go a long with my PS4 and PC would definitely be a change of pace and offer some more variety to my gaming arsenal? 

Get a ps vita, the 3ds might be getting pokemon and the heavy hitters, but it doesn't have ys

You may as well get a Vita if you're getting a PS4.
