Gaming Today: Live Demo of Mass Effect Really Was Disappointing

Seems like this game is all talk and no action.

No, you deliberately picked out the only piece of criticism you could find and twisted into a "this game look like it'll be boring...."

And the first half an hour on Taris is pretty much just talk to build the plot.

Because the demo was dissapointing the game will be disapointing.

the first 20 or so minutes of a huge RPG and he's disapointed by the lack of action? Um, that makes sense.....not. He did contradict the guy from Destructoid saying that the conversation system was as interactive as you could get the animations were the best he's ever seen in a game

lol, and then he goes and compares it to the demo of Assassins Creed.....last time I checked, that wasn't an RPG

I will say that Bioware's strategy is a little odd, they show off the first 20 or os minutes of the game at PAX, yet are showing a more polished version of the E3 demo at Leipzig, which appears to have a lot more action in it

There will probably be a lot of talking in this game. The action will not be ultra intense.

Also from what I've gathered there are no specific hit locations so a headshot is no better than anywhere else, plus there's a lot of aim assist. All of that is probably customizable to your own requirements, because again its not a shooter and anyone expecting Gears Of War gameplay won't get it. Your skill will show through the tactical use of your squad as in KOTOR, just with a different flavour.

Yeah I can't wait either, I just fear its sales will be hurt by shooter fans dissing its action for being somewhat slow, when in fact the action is not the most important feature in the game.

Well I enjoyed the talk in KOTOR and with the added visuals the talk in Mass effect will be amazing and really help on the immersion. If they were playing it and actually effecting their own character with what they were saying ingame they would of probably had more fun, but just watching it doesnt really do much for them hince why they say its disapointing.

Yeah I was thinking it was him but Im not positive. But it does seem like someones scrounging for some bad media since its pretty hard to find bad talk about Mass effect.

What's up witha ll these amateur websites making bad preview for MAss Effect. You just know that they're seeking attention.

Anyway here's the video of the same demo Mass Effect PAX 2007 Stage Demo Now all can be the judge of this game. IMO it looks amazing.

Gaming Today contradicts the Destructiod artcle, Mass Effect indeed has good facial animations.

Plus watching somone else play an RPG isn't really that exciting.

Yeah, It seems people see guns they think it a shooter; people forget that it is Bioware making the game, and they made some of the best RPGs ever.

Itis alsothe prologue of the game.

I watched the PAX video and it looksverynice, and can't wait for it.
