I know it's a little off topic and I've seen this subject come up for other things.

Me , I don't think I could enjoy traditional gaming on a console and end up

using a PC more.

Wii controls still requires some thumb pressess, and voice recognition isn't great enough yet to play my games for me.

probably just end up watching my girlfriend play my games and I'll be just a gamer's assistant/coach or something like that.

PC all the way. But damn if you lost your thumbs I think there'd be a lot more important things unable to do than gaming.

I would just learn to not use thumbs. Shouldn't be too hard... Because of monster hunter on psp, I now use my left index finger to hit the D-pad when playing ps3.

Probably just stick to PC gaming...I mean, the only thing I need a thumb for is to jump (space bar) so I think I'll do fine...although typing will be a huge pain :P.

Well that means no jumping for me in fps or I could just remap the jump key. Overall though it won't affect me much since I mostly game on a pc and play rts and rpg which doesn't use spacebar often.

You could always go the Megan Fox route and have them graft your big toes onto your hands.

I dont use my thumb for anything but Space. Could probably just tape a popsicle stick to the space bar and use my palm to jump. Nothing too hard

Pfft, I'd kick everyones *** without any thumbs. I'll just quickly jab at the x button with my nose if I ever feel the need to see my character jump.

Yup, and I'd be more worried about losing one of my other fingers since they require more precise movements.

Not a lot of thumb usage in Guitar Hero. Might impair strumming a little.

Play on PC. Or glue short steel rods to where thumbs used to be. It's not as if you gotta flex them or anything, just keep straight and press down...

I would buy this 8)

Play Games Using Biosignals
This OCZ nia translate your body electrical biosignals into computer commands and you will get immersed into the game playing. You can also customize behavioral profiles of your character and do it by your subconsciousness.

If I broke my thumb it would still be possible to play videogames because you can always put the cast on the analog stick and move your hand my cousin had to do that when he broke is hand he was bad at it but he still managed.

If I lost my thumb I would use my Index finger to do what my thumb does and use my Middle or Ring finger to use the triggers I sometimes do that on games where I have to press a button as fast as possible my thumb can't press that button fast enough so I use my index finger for those parts.
