GamingBolt: Top 7 New IPs This Generation

I like 1,2,3 the rest isn't that great, but it's their list. No Assassins Creed?

No crysis, no Bioshock, no Witcher, yet they put Resistance on there. Pretty lamemillerlight89

Not to mention they put LBP and Dragon Age on there. LBP I could agree with if they wanted variaty, but definitely not DA after DA2. Not to mention they had 3 TPSes on that list (UC, Gears, ME.)

No Demon Souls or Phoenix Wright makes me sad.

(for the record, never played Demon Souls but from what I've heard about it, it should be one of the most influential New IPs of this generation.)

IMO, what should've been on there; Crysis, The Witcher, Darksiders, Gears of War, Metro, Bioshock, Uncharted.

I would've put Ace Attorney on there, but it technically counts as last gen as it was on the GBA in Japan. I did put STALKER there, but I haven't played enough of them so I put Bioshock instead. I am a big fan of shooters so there isn't that much variaty in my list :P

Phoenix Wright makes me sad.

Technically doesn't count as the first 3 were ported to the DS for the USA/EU and re-release in Japan from the GBA. Think the first game was actually released in 2001 on the GBA.

Interesting how the top 3 are probably my most hated IPs this gen.

But it is their opinion and I will respect that.

Here is my list.

4. Valkyria Chronicles

Gears of War, and Professor Layton I could easily agree with.

Everything else on the list? Nah.

Their reasoning for UC being number 1 confounds me ...

That being said I can't deny it should be on the list. Just not at number 1.

No Assassin's Creed (yeah I read the honorable mentions :P) plus Resistance, Dragon Age, and Gears make me not agree with this list

Wait, no Assassin's Creed, Crysis or Dead Space, and the presence of Resistance on that list makes me question how much I want to agree with it.

EDIT: They do have Professor Layton, so that elevates this list somewhat in my opinion.

What on earth is Resistance doing on that list over some truly awesome new IP's (Demon's Souls, Bioshock, AC to name but a few).

Funny because I never hated on that list, I merely stated I disagreed but respected their opinion.

Wow, terible list on something that seems pretty tough to screw up... Makes me wonder if its just going for website hits for laughs... Dragon Age needs to be off that list, Uncharted isnt the best by a long shot, Bioshock 1,2 and what will be infinate is a much more powerefull and creative IP than 6 of the 7 on that list and the seclusion of Assasssins Creed is down right laughable... I don't really throw a lot of weight behind a "gamingbolt" web page but jeeze, this one is bad.

Would've been nice to see Valkyria Chronicles up there.

Should have been a top 20 list that way we could piss and moan about the numeric order of the listed IPs instead.

I'm sure they could've found something better than resistance...

Other than that it's a pretty decent list.

Why is Resistance on their I can name 5 IPs that deserve to be there that aren't:

1. AC
2. Bioshock
3. Infamous
4. Portal
5. Dead Space

In other words Resistance doesen't deserve to be there.

Having Resistance on that list over Portal and Dead Space which they have as honorable mentions completely kills any interest I had in it.Not to mention the lack of The Witcher or inFamous. But it's their list, so whatever.
