"Bandwagon Haters" being those who automatically hate popular games, just because they have a mass following or are a big name title. Those tin foil hat wearers who think all reviewers are paid off, and every high scoring game got its score cause of "teh hiiipe" *rolls eyes* A game is not allowed to score a 9 or even a 10 nowadays it seems. You guys are ridiculous. These people who review these games spend HOURS among HOURS among HOURS beating a game and mastering it at almost every angle. Not only that, but they've BEATEN the game BEFORE you even touched the box! I dont know why people on this board insist that they themselves are more credible than these reviewers, and are more qualified parties at determining the perceived value of the game, when you either: 1. Are MUCH MUCH more biased (if your on this board, then I GUARRANTEE you fall into this category, everyone has some degree of fanboyism, and bias, or else you wouldnt come to "System Wars") 2. have minimal knowledge of the games themselves (IE. reading previews, watching trailers, if its an exclusive, then more often than not the games "bandwagon haters" are to some degree more partial to the opposing system, creating inherent bias) 3. You havent TOUCHED the game EVER in your life!! I cannot stress this enough. Theyve spent MUCH MUCH more time on the game then YOU have! 4. Not only have you NEVER TOUCHED the game (see #3), your most likely a fanboy of the opposing system, and have no interest nor any intention of EVER playing the game in question. Therefore your opinion is worthless and automatically invalid. Just sayin, If 100 friggin press sources call a game some variation of the phrases "best game EVER MADE" "Greatest of ALL TIME", its a little more than a damn coincidence lol. (obviously you take it with SOME grain of salt, dont want the "my opinion is what matters" crowd trampling me to death) *NOTE: I know marketing plays a big role in popularity, but PLENTY of heavily marketed games (and movies) get TRASHED in reviews (IE. Transformers 1 & 2 movies, or more recently Final Fantasy 13) please dont bring up this arguement, its rather easy to tear apart, but I dont feel like it* Its "popular" right now to hate GOW3. Back when Halo 3 came out, it raped everyones little sister. When MGS4 came out, it was the leading cause of cervical cancer, teh HERPS, and global warming. When Modern Warfare 2 came out, it and everyone who played it automatically became a member of Al Qaeda. Wanna know where those weapons of mass destruction bush was looking for in Iraq are? GTA4 was hiding them all along! History has proven that when a game becomes "popular", recieves mass positive feedback, and gains a strong loyal fanbase, it becomes the "cool" thing to hate said game. Same with all forms of mass media. GOW3 is looking to join the ranks of the games above, and with that, It will also recieve the same level of hate as the games above. Look out cows, in a few weeks Lemmings (and "bandwagon haters" as mentioned above) are going to TEAR GOW3 A NEW *** HOLE! Same **** happened with cows and Halo 3, and all fanboys do it. It just makes you guys look pathetic. Its a pathetic excuse nothing more. I cant wait to hear the backlash this game recieves.
Well, you basically sums up my opinion on comments made against early reviews (i.e. before street date) so people that made those comments are either pirate/never played the game/got lucky and got early copy, recent example = Dante's Inferno

I never said I would leave system wars lol. There was never any condition, I just said i thought it would get a 10. And most of the people who disagree with me are less qualified to make a statement like that, as Ive read almost every preview and watched all videos & soaked up ALL information reguarding GOW3, whereas the doubters not only are less educated on the game as I am, they are basing their feelings purely off of what they "think" it will score, what they "hope" happens and their own personal feelings (which are more-often-than-not purely knee jerk, and fueled by partiality towards the other platform)

My biggest example is crysis, i followed every article and video for it from the day it was announced. I was an active member on two fan sites, and was really hyped for it. When it came out it had a great score(not as good as i thought), but i left dissapointed. Since i knew what they were hyping for the game since the begining i knew what they left out, so a lot of the things that i expected to be in the game were not, so even though i liked the game, i was very let down. So not only did i hype the score wrong, but i also left dissapointed from the game.

No, you see, the difference between bandwagon haters and bandwagon hypers is the hypers usually know what the **** they are talking about. Calling me a bandwagon hyper in the same sense I used it in implys that Im hyping the game blindly and solely because of it being on PS3. The difference is that most people who hype games are fans of the game, and know an extensive amount of information about the game (see my last post before this one) therefore I am a more qualified to predict a score than most people. Whereas the "bandwagon haters" usually have MINIMAL to ZERO knowlege and are COMPLETELY IGNORANT of the title they are hating on, and more-often-than-not, it is hated PURELY because it is not on your platform. HATERS automatically hate the game solely because its popular, when the HYPERS usually have a legit reason. You would think someone like me who knows everything about GOW3, has read every preview there is, watched all videos, and soaks up ALL information on the game is more qualified to predict a 10, than say........a 360 fanboy whos NEVER touched a GOW3 game in his life, nor owned a PS2 or PS3, has no intention on EVER owning a PS3 and doesnt care for the game is at predicting an 8.5 right?
