Epic are just a better developer than Guerrilla Games, so of course more gamers will buy a product from a more well known and quality developer.

Pent up rage because of the lack of AA and AAA games to hold over the cow's head this year. :PLionheart08So it's a counter to all those threads made by cows bashing the Xbox 360's 2009 exclusive lineup? :P

Pretty much.
Killzone 2 was only anticipated by the core gaming community. Outside our little insulated world, there was little knowledge about Killzone 2, whereas Gears did appeal a lot to the Halo crowd on the 360. Just saying.....Also, a million units is a great feat for any game, and doing it in one country in a month and a half is still quite good.SpruceCabooseAnd that was entirely Sony's fault. Any big budget shooter can be a mainstream hit these days with good marketing.

Think Killzone 2 sold great consider it was a sequel to a game that atleast all in SW say sucked.
Gears of war was a new game with new clean slate and had no bad reputation from a earlier game.

It did not hurt that Gears was made by Epic, the company that makes Unreal Tournament. The first Killzone sold great, but many people hated it because of the glitches and frame rate issues (but I still like it!).
yeah, that's what i thought (whilst playing UT3 earlier) i love unreal games, so i would buy anything by epic, you would have seen a hell of a lot of UT players rushing to buy it off the shelf, gotta say though, UT3 is way better than gears or KZ2, it's just so much fun it's unrealKillzone 2 was only anticipated by the core gaming community. Outside our little insulated world, there was little knowledge about Killzone 2, whereas Gears did appeal a lot to the Halo crowd on the 360.Absolutely what people also need to recognize is that GeoWwas also the first true Next Gen looking game. Before it released Kameo or PDZ was it for graphics on the 360. That coupled with a marketing storm that stared months before the game launched helped it sale those numbers.Just saying.....Also, a million units is a great feat for any game, and doing it in one country in a month and a half is still quite good.SpruceCaboose
Once again Sony's marketing team did KZ2 no favors. Why in the hell do they start their marketing campaign right when a game launches is beyond me?
Who cares...
Both sold well. I don't see the point here. Are you trying to say since Gears sold more it's the better game? Cause I do  at that sentiment.
Also keep in mind that Killzone 1 wasn't amazing. While the multiplayer was pretty good the overall package was below average (I did enjoy it though). Killzone 2 had to make up for alot due to the original. It didn't dissapoint. :)
Stop brushing aside the fact taht KZ2 did not sell as much as GeoW1, sales are a part of system war. But yeah you are probably right that lems are just jealous that it's not on the 360. Anyways it's probably because Epic has more and better games under its belt than Guerilla games. The Unreal Tournament series easily destroys the crappy KZ game on the PS2. Guerilla hadn't proved that it was a good developer yet so people are probably hesitant to buy KZ2.What's the point here? Killzone 2 didn't sell as much copies therefore it must be a terrible game? Give me a break.
Lemmings who make these threads are just jealous they don't get to play it.

why do people hate this game so much. KZ2 is a great game 1st was the DS controller sucks, the graphics dont look good and now the sales whats next the game is fun to play. whats wrong with u people. KZ2 sold over 1 mil so far world wide and thats bad. i really start to think the most x360 owners are teenagers that have nothing better to do then playing games all day long or fanboys are just being really stupid
sony can market. look at the PS2 and PS1 era. its just that they are relying more on their brand name (when you say 'playstation', everyone knows what you are talking about) now than spending money on advertisements.FACT MS know how to market
FACT Sony do not

This is just another KZ 2 bashing thread just like the countless others. The game met the hype score wise and is selling very good yet some haters continue to bash it because they got owned badly. They said the game would flop and the sales would be bad. Just accept you were wrong and move on. This is really getting old. If some of you actually played the game you would realize it's a pretty good game. I love it and am having fun with it.
Here's my opinion about ps3 exclusives. If the game get over a million sales im happy for them cause then i'll probely see another sequal to the game. Sony seems to think 1 million sales is fine for a game. So im happy the great game got the sales, for ill get a sequel someday, sony is happy that it sold well. And Sony will continue to give me great exclusives that i play every year and thats all what i really care about, getting games
I look forward to next week, when someone else makes the exact topic again.

Well, first of all. That's only part of a picture. The Xbox Brand is recognized for a certain type of game, so KZ2 would have sold better on 360.
Secondly, GeoW didn't have the TAINT of stink on it that KZ2 had from KZ1.
Thirdly, GeoW came out when the economy was good, KZ2 came out during a worldwise economic crisis.
Fourthly, GeoW came out as a HOLIDAY launch title, at a time when the Xbox Brand was starved for games. At the time, Last Gen's HALO 2 was the most played Xbox 360 game! There had been NO 1st party games on the 360 for a whole year, since Launch 2005! It was pure timing.
In contrast, the PS3 owners got Resistance 2, LBP, MLB09:The Show, just in the last few months from KZ2's launch. Remember, HOLIDAY dollars are HUGE. IT's GIFT season!
Fifth, Marketing. GeoW was marketed better, than KZ2.
