I think we will see massive numbers for gears 2. the install base is about twice as large as it was for the first. its also the biggest game this fall and its getting a lot of praise from game journalists. in other words gears 2 will curb stomp every other game this fall except for WoTLK.

lol... Yes, Gears of War 2 will be bigger than Resistance 2, but I played the original Resistance and thought it was a pretty good game. At the time it was the ONLY really good thing on the PS3. I think Resistance 2 will do just fine. But yes, it will take a backseat to Gears in the gaming media, and in sales.

I read in a gaming magazine that pre-orders of Gears 2 have surpassed the original (that was, at its time, one of the most pre-ordered games ever, merely beaten by few blockbuster games, such as Halo 2) pre-orders, making it join the list along with huge grand slammer like Halo 3, GTA IV, WoW. Yes. Gears 2 will be a huge seller. I haven't seen anyone say it will sell less. Whichever 1 or 2 people said that are crazy (no offense guys :)).

:lol: I don't know man, ask them. Resistance 1's multiplayer sucked. I was being sarcastic. Resistance was very generic and boring to me. Only thing that was fairly well done was the story.

It's VERY similar to the Battlefield games. If it's executed as well as BF then it's definitely a win :). (So far previews have been only positive for the MP).

Hey TC, could you please link that news story for Gears 2 selling more preorders so far than Halo 3? Cause the record as far as I am concerned is still H3. And that isn't a Halo fanboy thing, that is a me working at retail seeing the numbers thing.

I'll put it this way. I worked the Gears 1 launch, and i'll be working the Gears 2 launch as well. Around this time for Gears 1, we had about 50+ preorders in my store alone, not counting the others in my area. I had almost 200 for Halo 3. Right now, my computer has 16 down for Gears 2, 3 Limited edition preorders as well. I honestly have more 360 copies of COD:WAW preordered than I do Gears 2.

Actually I just checked, I still have 37 preorders for Gears 1 to be picked up technically at my store, I mean we don't have 'em but thats how many preorder's still left. I do remember Gears 1 being over 100 copies preordered. This is gonna be a big game no doubt, but I think there is way more competition for peoples attention and dollars this time around than Gears 1.

Not really, they used my ball to know everything and assume the role of Supreme Ruler of the world, my ball is only safe with me, I use it for good not for bad.

Gears 2 is way better then Resistance 2. The first one sucked and this one will 2. 60 players wow thats amazing 2 bad it dont feel like it really is 60 players in game. Oh yea one more thing Ps3 is a bunch of lies we will give u the R2 beta in early october never did get it huh ps3 guys. The only thing ps3 is good for is saying sorry we are working on it.
