Gears 2 -- It's likely to get an 8.5

I got the game about two days ago after my Gamestop accidently sold me a copy ( love the old lady who runs the shop :P ). Anyways... after playing the different game types I have come to the conclusion that this game will likely get an 8.5. Anything more then this, would be undeserved, because quite frankly... it feels like an expansion pack. In fact, the only reason I think it will get an 8.5 is because of the name.

Single Player - The single player is better. Both in terms of graphics and variety.

Co-op - No substantial improvements. Except, it's annoying that when I host a co-op game, I can't "wait" until someone joins... instead the act/level starts without someone connecting. At least give us the option :/

Multiplayer - The same as Gears 1... in pretty much every aspect. Really. I kid you not. Aside from... 2 new guns? (flame thrower and the new default gun)... there really isn't anything new here. It's more of the same.

*UPDATE* Honestly... the multiplayer is kinda messed up.
- You don't get stunned if you are revving the chainsaw and get shot .. this HAS to be a bug. At least I hope.
- Shotgun is more random then GeoW1, to the point that you can literally aim at someone directly, fire, and nothing happens.
- Blindfire works very awkward. Pretty much, you can't use it to fend off enemies, but can't use it to really take someone down. The only gun I think it works "right" with is the shotgun. Oddly, blindfire shotgun seems more accurate then ironsight shotgun.

Horde - This is a neat mode. It's my favorite mode, but something that won't have lasting appeal.

This game indeed... may very well flop.

That said. I admit that I am a hermit, but I also love playing my 360. I by no means wanted to see this game turn out the way it has. Yes, it's a good game. You will enjoy it. However, if you are looking for more then an expansion-pack feel, much like myself, you may be disappointed.

Maybe you should play it more because there's more than 2 new guns. And there's more changes to multiplayer than you realize apparently.hopesfall2own

They are up dude. Actually, two days ago it took a while to get a game going. As of yesterday and today, joining is really quick from the lobby. Except co-op and horde mode, which take some time.

btw how is the tatical system in the single player? is it improved from the first gears?

The MP is tottally different and the servers aren't even up yet...

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The way GS has been scoring lately I wouldn't call anything a guaranteed AAAE. Nothing is safe. GS has changed.....
