1 Halo 3 2 CoD: World at War 3 Call of Duty 4 4 Gears of War 2 not a bad position if you ask me, look at the games above it, they are huge online.

All the games above it are great games. Though i do think Halo 3 is overrated a little. The rest are all great games though. I don't really see it as a big deal.

This is probably due to the connection issues (when attempting to join a game through matchmaking) that alot of people were having since release. They need to update it and fix it fully and for good.

I'm glad MS has a way to track activity with their games. It just makes me wonder what if the competition had the same unified service that can track activity, and makes me wonder which of their games are more active.

The game is a buggy pile of %#$@ online. Unbalanced weapons, incredible lag, buggy matchmaking system. You can't even chose which gametype you want to play. You have to vote between terrible gametypes. If someone wants to play the flashback maps, you have to vote between 5 other terrible gametypes. The only tollerable gametypes are Execution and Warzone. The online portion is nothing short of trash.

Well, while I can understand Halo's popularity (due to the huge fanbase and more balanced online play), CoD4 and CoD:WaW seem a little misplaced. They too have broken online (not in the case of lag, but balance), but of course people look past that and point to Gears of War 2. The developers need to actually step up their game and fix the stupid glitches/lag/balance. Tweaking some weapons over a period of time would be fine, but when you have a chainsaw like that, grenades that are more unbalanced than any other weapon in the game, and the Boomshot with far too much ammo for the power it has, you have a recipe for broken online gameplay. They said they're releasing a balance patch on the 27th, but they really should've taken their time with the game first.

The matchmaking however is fine for the most part now, after those first 2 small patches.

I really hope I change my mind in the future, cause I gave 70euros for GeoW2, and it has been a total disapointment, matchmaking takes forever, and I don't find the online all that great, it's decent but I rather be playing Halo or something. Been spending most of my gaming time on the pc as usual.

That's not how it works. Any activity in the game as long as you are signed into XBL counts.

The most hilarious thing about this thread is that the top 3 games are:

Halo 3

COD: World at War

Call of Duty 4

That's a pretty tough nut to crack, even for Gears and I bet they dwarf almost anything being played on PSN. In fact I'll wager that Geow 2 probably does that, even in 4th place.

to bad for the fanboys. i think halo 3 is up there because school for college students are starting to get over. maybe people are still playing single player because i usually play single player first then play multiplayer.
