alright first of all i know this is gonna bring a lot of fanboys and second i know one is a TPS and one is a FPS but i wanna know what your guys opinion is on which will be a better game overall in sales, reviews, graphics and all of that personally i think gears is superior to resistance in pretty much every way because it was very innovative and the new one looks like its bringing new things to the table and i have played both games and i thought resistance was just average.
Resistance 2 is better I have both and the gears 2 story had a gd opening but after that went way down like we barley met the extra characters and there is so much cheesy voice acting. how can they brag about amazing unreal engine with stunning graphics because the graphics are very poor with an exception of water. The online is lagged up with glitches and is basically gears 1 apart from chainsaw is way overpowering and shotgun does not work as well as it should at point blanc range I know it sounds as I hate it but I don't I like playing with my mates on it and it is gd but cannot mach up to resistances unique online with u can be really strategic, okay some of the graphics are poor but the scale, ai and game play more than makes up for it. Story is shorter than gears 2 but it is still fun but it is a bit rushed. Story is quite developed as well
Eh depends on how you look at it i liked both Gears 2 had a great story but far to short once again, and didn't add much new and online was awful. IMO i find R2 the better sell for me as it has great online co-op everything and great story with some insane huge bosses, though Gears had cooler weapons! But R2 improved everything from the first which is why i loved it as a sequel.
Gears 2. Resistance 2 has better multiplayer, but overall Gears 2 is a better package, plus once they fix the online issues I may change my opinion on the multiplayer.

Without difficulty, Gears of War 2 uses its chainsaw to pull Resistance 2 to pieces in connection with sales. Its sales are not as startling as Halo 3's, but by selling more than 2 million in three days - which PlayStation 3's most hyped game Killzone 2 won't do - we can say that Gears of War 2 sells better with ease. Resistance 2's graphics are relatively crippled, as I see it. Anyway, in general, I hold Gears of War 2 superior.

how is gears 2 innovative??
I wont go so far as to say Gears 2 was inovative. I do like things like Horde. Also...I like that there is a great deal of combat stuff you can do. Like Chainsaw battles, I like what happens when your downed. You can crawl for cover, or to your team. You can use grenades to blow up guys who are standing over your body while your downed. I like the different moves you can do with different weapons when guys are down and your finishing them off. I enjoy the different way they did the capture the flag game mode...meat flag is cool. Overall the modes, the levels are all great. Too bad it has issues like host advantage, lag, poor matchmaking etc. It could have been GREAT.
