Gears 2 WILL BE GOTY the same way OBAMA will be elected into office

gears 2 and obama are similar in that they will both be winning prestigious awards this year through SHEER HYPE AND HYPE ALONE. gears 2 is a game with no substance and a Obama is a candidate with no backbone. obama wants to end the war in iraq but then continue it in iran while gears 2 wants to end the war with the locust while starting a war in your wallet. i urge everyone TO VOUCH FOR AN INDIE TITLE FOR GOTY THIS YEAR AND VOTE FOR SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE TWO CANDIDATES WITH THE MOST MONEY.

As far as Gears of War 2 winning GOTY? I doubt it. Gears of War won because of a relative lack of competition, an advantage Gears of War 2 will not have this time around.

Tell me what Gears of War had to compete against in 2006. I'll be willing to bet that it didn't have 2 AAAAs in addition to a slew of AAA titles to compete with.

look at it this way, McCain crushed all his fellow republican opponents early in the primaries right? obama was late to win his nomination. obama's hype is alive since it's fresh in our minds as oppose to mccains hype which died out a long time ago = obama winninng the election. gears 2 coming out late year = mad hype at end year = winning GOTY.

I watched the whole thing, you know nothing about politics. Let me sum up exactly what he said.

1.) Israel is America's ally and any one who wages war on Israel wages war on America. This policy has been with every president for as long as I can remember...

2.) Obama talks of peace first however and making strides towards peace actively but assures Israel (who's always afraid of a nuclear Iran) that he would not hesitate military action to aid Israel if all else failed.

To stay on topic about Gears of War 2, what would you prefer TC? An entirely new enemy or something?

IMO, the way I see the election in contrast with video game is:

Republican = Gears of War 2 (McCain)

Democrats = MGS4, GTA4, Fallout 3, LBP, Resistance 2 (Obama, Clinton, Biden)

Admit it, Gears 1 was the only game back then hence winning its GOTY. But now it has competitions to tackle and I dont think it'll be able to handle that line of scrimmage (...too much football :D)

I realized that while I was reading your first post. That much was painfully obvious.

In my eyes, Obama is more than hype and no, I'm not about to utter some cliched "he's change we can believe in" line either. I've studied both his and McCain's policies and I believe his are better. That's why he will have my vote. Not because of hype, not because he's a good speaker but because I believe he's the best candidate to vote for on November 4th. Nothing more, nothing less.

As far as Gears of War 2 goes, if it's good enough to merit the hype it has going for it, then it'll probably win GOTY based on more than just that. Perhaps even because it deserved it more than any other game to be released this year.
