Gears 3 at VGAS?!?! Keighley's tweet to Cliffy B. starts rumors!

Spike TV host Geoff Keighley recently sent a tweet to the Gears of War design directorCliff 'CliffyB' Bleszinski saying;

"You ready for the big show on Saturday night? Can't wait to see you!"

It could be the new EA game too, however...

Already? I think it's too late. Gears of War 2 was announced in the beginning of March last year, I believe.

Why is everyone seemingly convinced Epic's next game is Gears 3? Unreal 3/UT4/a new IP, running on UE4, makes a hell of a lot more sense.

Gears was set to be a trilogy but I don't think Cliffy wants to show anything at this time for what I guess will be a title launched in 2011 so, just sayin.

This really doesn't mean anything.

If you're Microsoft do you really want to spin both of your biggest bullets (Halo Reach and Gears 3) in the same year?

I'm pretty sure Gears and Halo will have staggered year releases until the end of time.

I really really hope it's not another Gears, Gears 2 sucked, what can they possibly do with Gears 3 to make it worthwhile again? New IP plix.

Who knows, i wouldnt mind to see it this gen! Anyway, i based my post on other big "trilogies" like Halo and God of War. The impact is allways bigger if the last games are developed with new tecnology.

I really loved Gears2 and Shadow Complex. UT3 not so much

You are right it does make sense to release it same generation but its not always the case another big franchise has released during seperate generations GoW 1 & 2 PS2 and GoW 3 PS3.

It is possible for Gears 3 to release in 2010, Gears 2 came out in 2008, 2 years after the first. Gears 3 would just follow suit, though with a third game I always expect some more time, GTA: San Andreas took an extra year than the Vice City, while MGS4 took a 4th year to come out after 3, and extra over the last 3.

With Gears 3 I'd expect more time to be used in making it a better experience than Gears 2, and introduce more features and innovations aside from just looking better. Still, its not impossible that Gears 3 would be announced even if it did come out in 2011 since theGod of War III trailer was shown in 2008. Plus Halo: Reach is coming out in 2010 and I know MS likes to spread out their milkage jk, but yeah Reach.
