I doubt GeOW 3 would launch this year. Since Reach is coming this year, GeOW 3 will most likely come next year but I do hope they show it off/announce it this year93soccer

Well Halo is in september, and gears would work nicely as a November 14th game because theres no new MW, just the other COD that no one really cares about lol.. I mean sure people will buy it and like it, but They probably want a bigger exclusive heavy hitter for november-ish time of year

It's usual for a game to have a release date announced and then speculation leads up to the official announcement of the games release it happened with multiple games such as Gears 2, links were popping all over the internet claiming that the game would come out in Nov. 08 and then in a matter of days it was announced.

Gears 1 - fun multiplayer, meh singleplayer

Gears 2 - fun Singleplayer, meh multiplayer

I hope Gears 3 gets the multiplayer right this time and I may resub my xbox live. Gears 2 multiplayer is the reason I went back to being a PC only gamer.

Gears sold a boatload more than Resistance and Killzone, so I think Gears will be fine.

Microsoft is not this dumb. A Halo is being released this year. Never has a Halo and a Gears been released in the same year (excluding PC version of Gears), and it's part of MS's clever strategy.

2006 - Gears of War

2007 - Halo 3

2008 - Gears of War 2

2009 - Halo Wars and Halo ODST

2010 - Halo Reach

I see Gears of War 3 being released in 2011, at the very least. MS would not cannibalize their two biggest games' sales. They're both Shooters as well, so do not compare this with the first Mass Effect or Fable 2 which were released alongside Halo 3 and Gears of War 2, respectively. If MS is smart, they will wait until next year.

They're having Fable 3, Reach & maybe Natal this Q3/Q4 so obviously they will market those as much as they can. It's a better business move to save up Gears 3 till next year... Well imo, I mean seriously, who will be able to afford Natal and it's games, Reach, Fable 3 AND Gears 3 in a matter of 3 months assuming they get released from Sep - Nov not to mention other big titles like the next COD.

if it will come out, I think they'll announce it at GDC. if there's no GDC announcement, then I doubt it.

didn't Cliff B. say no Gears 3 until the next gen of UnReal Engine? that and it might not be smart of MS to not stagger their 2 flagship franchises. Halo Reach and Gears 3 in the same year?

world at war sold 10 million on PS3/360, 11 million if you add Wii

Sure, MW2 sold 15-16 million on PS3/360, but i think a huge turn off with WAW with some buyers was WW2 theme, now that its vietnam, which hasn't been as done in games as WW2, maybe it can creep closer to MW numbers

either way 10 million + for the "other call of duty" isn't bad at all

There is no way MS is gonna put this game out when they already have a great line up this year.
