Gears franchise to go multiplat in 2012 ?

As far as I know Gears is not owned by MS like for example Halo is. It's an IP that still belongs to Epic but due to a contract with MS the trilogy will only appear on the 360. Of course seeing as how MS has published and funded every Gears game it may look like it belongs to the 360 but keep in mind that so was Ninja Gaiden 2. Everyone went on about how NG2 would never come to PS3 because it was published by MS and yet we all know what happened. Im just saying it seems with the way MS is treating Epic it wouldn't be totally surprising if Gears 3 went to PS3 in 2012. And don't give me that whole "oh the PS3 fans wont understand teh story" Like Gears has a story lol, and besides that didn't stop DMC4 to go 360 and Mass Effect 2 on PS3 in Jan of 2011.

I will also like to add that I can see into the future, I predicted ME2 would go multiplat and it did so you guys should take my word for this too :P I will not benefit from Gears going multiplat Im simply saying there is a strong chance it will before the end of this gen. Besides I hates Gears lol.

Actually I'm not sure if MS owns the Gears of War franchise either. I was always under the impression that it was a contact to publish 3 games.

1st party should stop screwing around with the games market, buying up developers; and forcing them to produce exclusive games.

If I were Epic I would have delayed Gears so that more focus can be put on Bulletstorm. If I were Microsoft, I'd be all in favor of this delay since their holiday exclusive line-up for 2011 looks to be lacking. This works out for all parties.

Why do they have to use 1st party developers in the 1st place? Ah that's right, they are so popular; that no one wants to make big exclusive games for them. So they buy them up and force them.

Then every other platform suffers for it, because a developer that would probably be cross platform was made to go exclusive.

Correction, the head of the Gears of War department has been hating on PC for years. Epic Games as a whole is largely on good terms with the PC market, the head of Epic Games has even said to ignore what he says.

so Media Molecule are being treated like dirt. Zipper Interactive are getting treated like dirt. Insomniac are getting treated like dirt.

doesn't seem that MS can get by with anything unless it involves them mistreating a developer. if they pushed them to get it released this year, people would claim they're being treated like dirt. mindboggling

the reason? No one really knows with the VGA thing. maybe MS felt they've shown off enough Gears 3 footage already. seeing as Forza 4 was never officially announced, maybe they wanted to swap out their VGA spot to announce their new title, instead of the one that's been showing off gameplay footage for a while. unless there were plans of a Forza 4 reveal pre-VGA that I don't know about. if not, legitmate idea, nonetheless.

and it's already known Epic is taking advantage of the delay. seeing as they've been excited to instill dedicated server support and have an MP beta before release.

Media Molecule's delay wasn't business related it was development related.

As it seems SOCOM's was.

I'm not sure which Insomniac game Sony apparently strongarmed into releasing early or late.

A better example is Quantic Dream, and Sony getting them to make Move-support at the expense of more DLC. That was a **** way to treat a third party partner.
