Gears Of War 2 , GOTY ?

This game looks epic and since its using the unreal engine 3.5 it has a proffesional story writer this time around, and it has many more cool features thatll blow your mind, (note i have a ps3 also just for any fanboys who wanna tery and bite my head off , and i want resistance 2 also).

Doesn't seem GOTY material to me. So FAR all i have seen is a graphical update and an attempt at story, there hasn't been much addition to the gameplay it seems. Destructable enviroments is good but depending on it's implement it could either make the game play really differently or just make you have to find cover more often. Chainsaw battles.. well nothing much I can say there haven't seen it implemented.

In short it's still a while before I can decided if it's GOTY material.

Killzone 2 has a great chance of being game of year. The game with the 40million dollar budget. The game that uses sonys exclusive "Playstation Edge" tools. The game that is being worked on for 4 years. Oh yeah its been confirmed that they will prove that the video shown in E3 2005 is can be done they will show off the in-game footage of that level cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Comes out April

I really doubt it. It had a professional story writer for Gears one, that turned out great. Your also assuming a lot. we don't know that it will have features that will "blow my mind." For all we know it's a rehash of Gears one. Let's wait till we see an actual screenshot.

When was the last time a sequel won GOTY on the same hardware?

Its gonna be down to GTA4 and MGS4.(imo)

But sadly it might be a game that releases in November/December that is popular at the time.

The chain saw battles look ridiculous.

The engine has improved a lot though. I dunno. I'm still expecting a moldy old rehashathon of gameplay mechanics that didn't impress me the first time around.

i dont care for the story which is a major part of the series. The gameplay is ok but you spend to much time watching cutscenes. this is the same reason i didnt like dmc4. From what ive seen from gta4 it seems to be packed with content.
