Yeah that's right the game is a lag fest and broken,i tried yesterday to play territories and i never got into a match it shows only that it found the players but nothing happened same with elimination,i get to play Horde mode and is a lag fest,i don't know how epic games have the face to release new maps instead of fixing the darm multiplayer,i think is better to milk your fanbase than fix the game.McdonaIdsGuyWhile I higly agree with you about the multiplayer I have not had a problem with horde, but they do need to fix it

I haven't played Gears 2 but I can say that the majority of console games I have played online have been lagfests. Thats what you get with a lack of dedicated servers.
Well you need a better connection, I run just fine.PatatopanWhy always blame the connection..? all my other games have 0 lag,is not my connection is the game!!!I have 3mb and 10mb connections...
This is actually true, dough it depends, i don't always get that much lag, so much for my 50$ that went to m$ for live  R2 has no lag in any mode :| IcEpicK22To me those $50 are worthy gears 2 is the only game giving me problems is not Xbox live is epic game and their broken net code and yet they milk people with map packs.

You're right, I used to game with 512k fine, now I have 10mb. You're not transferring that much data (atleast to my knowledge), it's more about upload speeds.

I know, no doubt they knew their netcode was gonna have problems, they should get someone else to work on that.

Well you need a better connection, I run just fine.Patatopanumm it has nothing to do with the connection, the suffers from lag whether you have a 100 kps or 1.5 Mb connection, not to mention how people use the glitches to cheat

Yeah and people think sony milks ps3 owners, at least PSN is free and the ps3 has built in wi-fi
You're taking the thread to territories that have nothing to do,this is about Gears 2 its multiplayer and how much epic games cares about their broken MT.[QUOTE="IcEpicK22"][QUOTE="McdonaIdsGuy"] To me those $50 are worthy gears 2 is the only game giving me problems is not Xbox live is epic game and their broken net code and yet they milk people with map packs.McdonaIdsGuy

Ha, they're already releasing DLC like the games is fine.Maybe the guys at epic don't play Gears2, that would make me lol. Come on epic fix it.
Now i have a theory, they released the 1st patch that did NOTHING un purpouse, so they could make us think they repared(beeing a patch and all), the placebo effect:shock: lulz
I actually hate Gears 2 MP. It's simply not fun. Horde is fun, but it gets old if you ask me. carljohnson3456exactly how i feel the SP is great but MP apart from horde has been ultra disappointment.
I'm not saying I don't believe the people who get laggy games, but I've only had like one laggy game the entire time I've played, and it was the day of release. :?Skittles_McGeeWhen I played it I also had few problems, I did notice matchmaking get longer, nothing more. I haven't played it recently though.
[QUOTE="Solid_Max13"]Yes Gears 2 is very laggy, tell that to ppl who believe paying for xbl is necessary!EuroMafiaIt's necessary if you wanna play online. Which is why most people pay. Not knocking xbl, ok well maybe a little just because i find paying for service should be free, but also gets me mad that developers know there's something wrong with the game not just Gears but I've had problems in L4D,Gears2, and even MGO(until they finally fixed it) I just wish they'd acknowledge and fix it sooner.

I haven't played it recently though. Matchmaking wasn't too bad for me. It only took 15-30 seconds usually. Sometimes more, but never long enough for me to get annoyed. I dunno. Seems to be random. People having problems that is. Some people get them. Some don't.

This is why PSN should also be charging a fee to use it as well as playing online with a PC. Charging a fee would also likely reduce pirates as well because companies can better ensure a legitimate copy of the game is being used. I think $40 to $50 a year is a fair price for what you get.
The game does lag here and there, but i never experienced this "lag fest" you speak offdestro123Ok not being able to kill the enemies and shooting at them and nothing happening and after that u end up dead isn't lag?

I could see PSN having a fee if it had a few more features, but PC gaming is up to the game developers. You already pay for internet on a PC, and most non-MMO PC games let the users run their own servers. So essentially, most PC game devs pay nothing to keep that part of their service running. Others, like Blizzard, have something like Battle.net. But being on BNet you might notice it has a fair number of ads thrown about from time to time. On top of that, their games sell well enough that they can cover the costs based on sales alone. The same goes for ArenaNet and Guild Wars. With XBL and PSN however, running this service is up to Sony and Microsoft. Directly, they can't run it based on profit from game sales. Thats why Microsoft charges for XBL and why PSN has fewer features.
