I agree with this, surprisingly. By all means aside from graphics, Halo 3 is the better game. If Gears 2 werent glitchy I'd have sided with it in terms of gameplay.
I completely disagree with this review of the two games. IT's subjective. I don't like the gameplay of Halo in the least. I'm the type of person who enjoys stealthily sneaking up or using cover to achieve my goals. All these run and gun games such as Halo 3, Resistance and Unreal Tournament are, in my opinion, not fun to play in the least. I'd rather a Gears of War, Call of Duty or games like it rather than a run and gun type game.

Thats hilarious... Gears of War 2 is ok but it lacks soooo much depth. Halo 3 perfectly rounded off a trilogy, had brilliant mutiplayer, gameplay mechanics and an almost impossible task of meeting its own hype - which it did. I would like to see a Half Life vs Halo comparison, this would be very interesting as you could almost guarantee no matter what the result there would be some serious fallout.

I play Gears 2 for Co-Op and single player campaign and Halo 3 for Multiplayer, I must admit Matchmaking on Gears 2 sucks! but both AAA Title AVALIBLE FOR 360!!!!!!!!!!!!!! screw PS3
Pretty good comparison...except for the story. You need to look at the entire story of Halo vs. the entire story of Gears. Halo is more compelling to me...but both are very predictable.
Halo3 is no doubt better because it is more fun. In fact, I'd rather play it todya than gears2.

Since the only basis of comparison is the fact that they are the two biggest heavy hitters of the console, I would have to agree. I enjoyed Halo 3 a lot more and am just much more keen of the Halo canon and universe.
Why do people whine about Halo 3s graphics, theyre fantastic, plenty of detail and great design. Yeah i know in some outdoor and indoor levels its terrible but otherwise it looks really sharp
I agree with alot of that article..... IMO Halo 3 is still the better game overall....ESPECIALLY for multiplayer. Hell COD 4 and Team Fortress 2(PC) are the only MP games i feel are on par with Halo 3 this gen...but thats my opinion..

I agree with the comparison. What halo 3 has with excellent gameplay and amazing multiplayer can't be topped with a layer of high resolution graphics and story. When you're fighting battles in halo 3, you actually have to think and be on the edge of your seat all the time, or some brute is going to pop up besides you and you're dead. I found the Gears of war gameplay to be more straightforward and forgiving. Also I really don't like the amount of grittyness in Gears of war. It makes everything look quite the same, while all the enviroments in halo games have a different feel to them.Â
I'm also still amazed at how you could hate halo. It does pretty much everything right, so maybe it's just the type of gameplay pissing people off. Halo is much less about precise aiming than other shooters. You have to move around very carefully, and use all tools (melee, grenades, guns) as much as you can on the higher levels. If you prefer fighting drones by just putting your aimer over them time and time again in fps games that's fine, but you gotta see how halo does more than that. Â

In my opinion it's been overshaddowed by a few other games but I still enjoy it. I enjoy splinter Cell as well though that's a little too stealthy for me to put it above GRAW or some other type of game like that.

What on Earth are you talking about? The OP posted a review on why one of the two games was better than the other one. I said I disagree and gave my opinion (Just like the person who wrote the article gave his opinion) then you type some ridiculous post that makes no sense and has absolutely nothing to do with my post.
though i really like Geow1 & 2, i still think Halo3 is better, since it had a good sp campaign and its online is much better than any of Geow games... Overall i find Halo3 to be better than Geow2...

Built in, and this is a console game. Also Forge is kept simple so you can go straight in and try all sorts of crazy stuff
