Gears of War 2 vs Resistance 2 graphics (No 56k)

Gears is the definite winner for me, even if those screens do look massively touched up.

Resistance 2 looks good, and is definitely way above the first one, but I don't think I can ever look at it as a graphics king.

Gears of War 2 makes Resistance 2 look like a Locust after being chainsawed. WhenTheTwoFace

This "chainsawed" Locust would have to be rendered by the Gears 2 engine, though, right? So Resistance 2 looks as good as Gears 2? Yeah. We know.

Agreed 100%. I'm not a big fan of how either of these games look, but I think Gears 2 looks better.

Gears 2 by a mile, at least from these pics. Soon when the games are available, we shall all see for ourselves how these two stack up both in visuals and more importantly, game play.

Gears 2 looks better, the environment work really paid off.

The fact that a game is bigger does not make its graphics as good as another, sorry.

Just like last year, Gears of War 2 will curbstomp Resistance 2 in graphics, gameplay, overall reviews, overall sales, and overall fun factor and longer gaming community life.

Resistance 2 has better color from those screens but that's it.

I'm sorry, but Gears 2 blows Resistance 2 out of the water. At least compare it to Killzone 2, which actually does look really good.

It does have sort of a greenish tint, but I like it

IMO the green lighting really hurts the overall look. It doesn't look real, and it isn't stylistic or expressive. It just looks bad. The artwork is probably the worst part about Resistance, however. The enviroments are pretty bland, and the enemy designs are shockingly generic. The Chimera look straight out of a 50's sci-fi movie, although the rest of the game lacks that kind of campy appeal.

Gears look a little better but only a little saying looks way better is fanboyism, by the way Resistance in some part looks better like the ground, but characters models and some of the mountains looks better on Gears 2. Both looks good in the graffics department. By the way people saying the colors of Gears looks better ae blind Resistance have better colors on screen Gears is just like killzone to much of one color on scren, Gears 2 is a upgrade in colors compared to Gears 1 but still almost the same.fjburgos

Yeah, it looks like Resistance 2 is using a puke pee overlay color.

I think gears looks better, Resistance comes very close.

gears of war 2 , a game that looks really good compared to a complete utter trash looking game called resistance 2

up close both look ugly

far away i prefer resistance2 its just way more colorful and stuff

Yeah, they're going for a retro look in case you didn't get that. But if your gonna talk about bland environments, you can't leave gears out of the discussion, grey city street, grey corridor, and occasional destroyed car, there is nothing exciting about Gear's environments. R2 has mixed it up, adding forrest settings and really improving the color of the game. The chimera look awesome btw.

And how are the locust any more original, Big aliens that look like ugly humans, straight out of doom 3 or countless other games
