Gears of War 2 Vs Resistance 2 Vs Killzone 2

Gameguru.in writes-2008 might be best remembered as the clash of the titans, as Grand Theft Auto 4 marks the beginning for this unending race for glory. This year shall also witness a multitude of epic (first person shooters) games being delivered right at your door step.

This unending vortex of destruction crafted by countless alien invasions began way back in the realm of Contra and as the years progressed the horror of the extinction of the human race became terrifying realistic, so in the current generation we have Gears 2, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 battling it out to reclaim the crown, the throne, the kingdom that had been snatched by the highly over hyped Halo 3. (Sorry Chief no one can hear you scream or whine in space).

Anyway, score wise I think Gears > Killzone > Resistance.

actually the fight should be Resistance2 vs GeOW2 since both are expected to be released this year... I chose Resistance2 (owning a PS3).... Insomniac always deliver whats promised and so far from the taste people in this industry got of online play, the game looks/plays rock solid already... :)

I have the Gameinformer with Gears 2 on the cover and they compare it to Gears 1 graphically and it shows the improved visuals. gears 1 allready looks better than Killzone 2 judging from the Killzone 2 gameplay vids in which textures and colors are non existent.

I want them all, but I am looking forward to them in this order:

Resistance 2 > Gears of War 2 > Killzone 2

the only non existent thing here is proof of any gameplay vids / actual in-game shots for GeOW2... it will look probably better than GeOW1 but still first we need to see actual in-game footage... KZ2 already showed its looking really good... and oohh understand that Textures in GeOW were good not great it was more the lighting that created atmosphere... Also since you like GeOW please dont mention colours, otherwise i have to think you didnt even play the game... GeOW has a dark, with a limited colour palette to create the atmosphere, so why do you bash KZ2 for lack of colours..... as i said nothing to back up your previous ridiculous post which was Graphics GeOW > Killzone pppffff

calm down. But its true KZ2 > GeOW graphics wise, for one the animations are so extreme its like you are riddling a guy with bullets, unlike Gears where every shell is but a minor flesh wound.

Um no its not, in fact I was linked to the latest gameplay video a couple of threads ago and I wasnt impressed at all. Honestly the chracter models and animations looked great but everything else looked mediocre at best especially the non existant colors and textures.

I gotta admit the animations are better but considering this game is coming 3 years later, they have to be.

But colors, textures, surfaces and particles all look far better in Gears.

we have to wait and see what game will be the best in quality though...

I'm most excited for Resistance2. I like Gears single player better but Resistance MP is better IMO, and in these types of games that's where they get their moneys worth. I'm sure Gears2 will be good too. I think Killzone 2 has a lot of potential but it's not due until next year so I will wait to get hyped for that one.

Also if GeOW2 doesn't prove to be a huge difference in gameplay from part 1, I might just rent it. It will be around christmas time and I might not have enough money to blow.

So u played all 3 games already? Im not doubting that gears could be better again but we havent even seen anything from gears. All we know is that it is already graphically stunning but we dont know how the gameplay is. Maybe this friday we will find out on gametrailers hopefully if there is any gameplay.

I really think alot of people are underestimating Resistance 2. I mean gears was a good game but do remember Resistance was a launch title and Insomniac themselves have said they think they have broken through with the online multiplayer of what is capable on consoles which gamepro and ign say they think this time around Insomniac has something big for us. The reason why I say this is because gears maybe graphically better but Insomniac this time around can prolly blow gears out of the water with the 2 single player story's and of course online multiplayer. So dont jump to conclusions yet. We will just have to wait and see. :)
