Gears of War 2...downgrade confirmed?

I was fully expecting GeOW2 to be the graphics king when it comes out, but looking at the new shots here at gamespot, they look just like a brighter GeOW..they don't look very good

That's multiplayer. It always looks worse then SP. Look at R6V for example.Aljosa23

So many people bash Killzone 2 for being gray,but is it really such a big deal? You're not even going to notice/care when you're playing the game.

I'm tired of people giving the "it's multiplayer shots" excuse. UT3 has MUCH larger MP enviroment and looks a hell of a lot better than that.Evz0rz

Graphics aren't that important. I didn't say they weren't important at all, just not that important. For reference, lets look at games like Super Mario Galaxy, which is GotY here and one of the highest rated games of all time, yet not an HD powerhouse.

Or N+, Geometry Wars, Everyday Shooter, echochrome, and many other great games that aren't breaking the polygon count (Retail, XBLA, PSN, WiiWare, VC, etc)...

Some games benefit from great graphics. BioShock, MGS4, Ratchet & Clank all were greatly helped with great graphics. But had those games been less technically impressive, they would have still been great games.

Now flip that. If they still looked great, but played worse, they would not be anywhere near what they are currently.

Actually, grey is a color. Black, however, is the absense of color, although it is sometimes considered a color in some circles/schools of art/design.

That's an old pic from teh unfinished game. It's not even beign released for 4-5 more months. Second of all, they've released gameplay trailers and they look spectacular, nothing compared to that craptastic screenie. This thread = epic fail. Gears 2 will ruin all competitions.Cipher92
