Gears of War 3, better than BF3 and MW3

Upcoming lemming thread, duck and cover: Come on, let's face it, Gears of War 3 is the better shooter than both. Campaign, multiplayer, co-op, and the best of all, does not focus on reality. I know, some will disagree so I've tooken the liberty to predict what you will say in this upcoming quote:

"Gears of War 3 sucks because the graphics suck and that's why Uncharted 3 is better because graphics make the game. The PS3 is so much better because of the internet browser and doesn't RROD. Even Metacrtic and IGN says that Uncharted is better. The casualbox only plays shooters and us PS3 gamers play a good game and don't play online and our internet browser is better than the PCs and Macs."

Now, here is something that can counter it:

-Graphics never make the game

-Old news, just get the xbox slim

-The IGN review was reviewed by a sony fanboy and metacritic is a summary of the opinions, both biased and unbiased.

-Call of Duty is also the best selling franchise on PS3

-PC and Mac internet browser>PS3 internet browser by far

Modern Warfare 3 is better than Gears Of War 3.

I like GOW3, but BF3 PC on high end graphics is better.

Name a few things that makes Modern Warfare 2.5 better than Gears 3 besides the fact that it won the award for best shooter at the VGAs (which Activision bribed anyway).

i agree, MW3 doesnt even stand up to it. While I love BF3's muliplayer as much as Gears3's, it doesnt compare camppign and co-op wise, both of which Gears bows BF out of the water. so in short.

MP BF3=Gears3

everything else (Sp, co-op,etc) Gears3>BF3

BF3 is the best of the 3. Gears just doesn't feel very robust, and MW3 is limited by its design choices.

Many people here fight over which game has the better graphics, but NO ONE here says that graphics make a game. So please stop saying that.

But yeah I think most people here would agree that GEOW3 is better than COD at least, probably both though.

I agree that GoW3 was definitely the better shooter of the three. but you didnt really give any real arguments as of why...

Its the best Gears out of the bunch. Its not a FPS so i won't waste my time comparing it as a shooter to BF3 or MW3. However i wiil say Gears of War 3 was the best third person shooter released last year.

Better than MW3 is a definate yes, but I have't played BF3 since the beta, but I still want to pick it up.

I have all 3, and while I may look like a Gears fanboy im really more of a Halo fan than anything else. Gears 3 is definitely the better shooter of the 3, it's gameplay mechanics are refined and butter smooth, it's multiplayer is incredibly well balanced (after TU2) compared to BF, KZ, CoD, and Uncharted. It has the best co-op of the 3 (4 player campaign and 5-player Horde and Beast vs MW3 & BF3 2-player co-op missions) and to top it all off, its incredibly gory and over the top action. TBH, though, wasn't it pretty much impossible for MW3 and BF3 to top it? Gears of War 3 was in development for 33 months (almost 3 years!!) whereas BF3 and MW3 were both in development for less than two. It's a shame that Gears and Halo, which are by far better shooters than all the modern military stuff, don't get the same player count as CoD. Recent numbers showed that Black Ops was still #2 behind MW3, followed by FIFA, Madden, and then in 6th you find Halo Reach and 7th you find Gears 3. Absolutely sad. Casual gamers don't know what quality is.Plagueless

The whole PS3 gamers just play exclusives is flawed when it comes to sales, especially when MW3 broke record sales.

I don't know why people are bringing up graphics as if they matter. Gameplay wise, I'd agree that Gears of War 3 is best of the three.

BF3 on PC isn't good because of graphics. It's good because of 64 players which changes the dynamics of it and makes it feel like a WAR GAME.

Both BF3 and MW3 are more competent shooters than Gears 3, although that is my subjective opinion.

Gears 3 is overrated but I think Gears 1&2 are worth buying, mainly because they're $5-$10 each.

I think on Xbox360 MW3 is the best online shooter available.

On PS3 MAG or Killzone are the best shooters.

On PC BF3 is the best shooter.

My opinion on this is.....

With friends, BF3>Gears 3> MW3.

Without Friends, MW3>Gears 3>BF3.

Go figure.

Gears is amazing because of the monsters and unique setting, it is the ultimate thing in shooters as far as setting/monters/enemies goes

GEOW3, BF3, & MW3 were the most irrelevent titles of the year. Nothing more than bland, repetitive, room clearing shooters.

In terms of Campaign GEOW3 was a joke but it was better than BF3, & MF3

In terms of MP . . . . BF owns that entire genre.

In terms of what was the worst game . . . . MW3 takes the cake but that doesnt say much considering they all sucked

Why is it better?

BF3 on PC makes Gears 3 look and feel like a gameboy game. It's not even just the graphics it's everything, the weapons, vehicles, maps, the scale everything. BF3 is the best MP game this gen.

Personally i put them in this order..

Single player:- Geow3>MW3>BF3

Multiplayer:- BF3>MW3>Geow3

Overall:- BF3>Geow3=MW3

own all three and this is how i see it. gears is fantastic, not sure why people are talking smack on the graphics, they are excellent.
