In a statement this morning, Microsoft Game Studios announced that Gears of War 3 is being pushed back into fall 2011 to serve as one of the publishing label's Q4 anchor titles. Indeed, Microsoft is already predicting it will be the "biggest entertainment launch of 2011."

Could it perhaps not handle the heat of Killzone 3? :P

Now, what exclusive(s) are coming out fr the Xbox 360 for the first half of next year?

I'm thinking of a game that hasn't been officially announced by Sony yet, but there's a very good chance that it's released in the Fall of 2011.

Does Gears of War 3 really want to go up against this game if it starts receiving hype as early as March? Lol... (you should know the so called game I'm talking about)

Yeah I heard Cliffy is having a bit of trouble and needs more time to implement the Kinect control sheme. :o

Anywho, It's cool I guess since Reach fills my need for a shooter for a good long time though TBH, I can't wait to give Gears 3 a run for it's money when it does hit the street.

to be honest from a commercial point of view it makes sense, they will need a big Xmas holiday title next year as the 360 is running out of exclusives and the PS3 will certainly have a few tricks up its sleeve

but with Crysis 2, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Duke Nukem 4ever, Deus Ex HR, do we really need another shooter early next year?

you gotta say the though the game was gonna be blatantly ready for April, it smacks of Epic being Microsoft's lackey

oh well I will be purchasing it regardless

It can be the only reason, if you think about it. There's also the possibility of the game being scrapped for the next gen xbox.

MS don't have any big released period (Aside from Gears)

I don't know what they're gonna do until Gears releases.

I don't think either game will affect the sales of the other much, if at all. But it will def. be interesting if Uncharted 3 comes out around the same time of Gears 3! Battle of the third-person shooter.

They still haven't decided whether or not Clay Carmine will survive. Debate over the issue will delay the game a few months, maybe more.

duke nukem for ever, resistance 3,deus ex comes out early comes out early next year? But I do agree way too many shooters coming out early 2011, I dont mind seeing a few of them being push to the summer. Always hated the summer drought for video games,

Yeah, it's easy to assume that Uncharted 3 will have a 2 year production cycle similar to Uncharted 2. We thought the same for Resistance 3 and Gears 3 as well, but those devs are taking an extra year now lol. Whatever Naughty Dog does, I'll be pleased, because I know they got it.

They are just afraid of Killzone 3 then when they realize Resistance 3 or Uncharted 3(doubt it I'm expecting 2012) will come out around the same time they will push the game back again. Joking

Kind of sucks they delayed it, but whatever gives them enough time to polish the game. Looking forward to it.

We all know he juggernaut Gears 3 will be, but honestly that wasnt my point. UC2 popularity equals or surpasses Gears 3. And actually UC2 is not far behind with Gears 2 in sales. UC2 sold 4 million and, Gears 2 sold 5 million. (correct me if Im wrong)

Either way, my point was that UC3 & Gears 3 are each other's absolute rivals. And that will be very interesting to see how that turns out. Either one will outscore the other, or one will outsell the other.

I don't think it has to do with development issues, but rather release schedule issues that Microsoft has. I'm sure they'll work on the game as much as they can though!

Anyways, this topic isn't about Uncharted 3 (sorry I'm already hyped for a game I know nothing about). Gears of War 3 shouldn't be pushed that far. But really you know what that means? NO excuses for bugs and such at launch. The multiplayer should be perfected in the GeoW way and I'm also expecting this game to be polished beyond belief. This could be the Xbox 360's graphics king for a while.

I wouldnt say the Uncharted series is as popular as Gears, especially not more popular.

UC will outscore it, better visuals, more variety more story coherence.

To be honest I'm not hyped for Gears 3 at all, i was before i seen the gameplay videos it looks just like the other 2 which while excellent, didnt have much lasting appeal to me.

so last night i go out and buy a 360 for reach and gears 3, and then i get hit with this news today...nice...xNewman69x

Well, the 2011 exclusive list for the Wii and 360 are certainly uninspiring so far. Namely Zelda and Gears... seems like Kinect and the 3DS are distracting them and they're just going to let the PS3 cruise through 2011 without even trying.

Oh no!! :P..wait a minute! isnt Fall usually the release of a CoD game? come on you know there will be another one, probably Mw3. hmm
