Gears of war 3 topping Halo and close to BO numbers.

Looks like Cliff B. dream came true to top Halo numbers. Hell, Gears is pretty close to topping BO numbers.

Eh, yeah I'd have to say all platforms. PS3 granted has had some great exclusives, hasn't really given me the quality game Gears 3 is. Honestly it's the same quality Uncharted 2 was for me.

The game really wasn't perfect for me like Gears of war 3 was. I played through HR once. I've played through Gears of war 3 on all difficulties then moved onto Multi-player then some horde and then some beast. Then I repeated it all.

It's not that, man, it's about giving your money to the people who actually made the game and not leeches like Gamestop.

NIce to see something that deserves sales, gets sales (AKA, not CoD) once in a while. Now if only Team Ico games could get the sales it deserves. IMO Infamous 2 and deus ex are the best games of the year so far, Infamous 2 is actually quite underrated IMOdracolich55

I despised Infamous 2, granted it didn't get the scores it deserved though. It's just my opinion that it wasn't any where close to the best game I've played. And HR like I said wasn't perfection for me like Gears of war 3 was. So generally I'd take Gears has a higher quality game.

Gears 3 is so packed with content it's insane. I doubt it will hold up against CoD. There are sooo many noobs, so after they get tired of getting run over they will go back to the kiddy pool.

IMO Gears 3 is the best game of the year so far. In GS's opinion Gears 3 is the best game of the year so far. Its such an improvement over Gears 2 that it deserves all of it. Gears 2 wasn't really a bad game, so to speak, it just had a terribly told story and rampant mulitplayer issues. The overall gameplay and especially the Horde mode were still a blast to play. Gears 3 literally makes Gears 2 look like a piece of garbage, there is so much improvement in every area. Movement is faster, cover snapping is better, story is great, multiplayer playes almost perfectly, (ive only experienced about 2 sec hiccups of lag twice in the 20+ hours ive played it, lvl 30 already) Horde has been overhauled and is now even more fun to play, and Beast mode offers a small mode where you can can play for just a small while to have a completely different style of gameplay.

IMHO Gears 3 edges out Portal 2 and LBP2 for my favorite games this year, nothing comes close to the amount of fun im having in co-op.

Although Portal 2's coop made me bust out laughing quite a few times.

That's simply reviewer opinion. For one, I really and I mean really enjoyed portal 2. It's the only game this year I've played that comes close to Gears of war 3. Though I'd have to say the extra content Gears packs gives it the edge.

It's kind of hard to say. But due to the fact it's been out longer more will be playing it. It also has long lasting appeal as well. If Gears has long lasting appeal it could eventually top BO numbers and or MW3.

When Prior to Black OPs release MW2 had about 800,000 concurrent users on xbox 360, 150,000 on PC and 600,000 on PS3.

Black Ops typically has 500-700K when I played actively on PS3. Xbox 360 gamers on another forum where claiming 1,000,000 - 1,300,000 in the december, january and febuary months.

177K seems so few compared to Black Ops / MW2 / Halo3 in their prime...

Hence the reason I stated reviewing has to many varibles. For instance, Gears of war 2 got I believe a 94 on meta critic. Simply because of the hype it had and was the sequal to one of the best games of all time IMO. Even though it was crap people still rated it high. And yet Gears of war 3 is literally perfection of the franchise but gets downed for not changing every single core game mechanic.
