Gears of War 4 PC version hinted at

Multiplatsbox One is on a roll

The Coalition Studio Head Rod Fergusson that Gears of War 4 PC version is possible.

When asked whether the game will ever be released on PC or not, Fergusson simply answered “possibly.” If you want to play the game at higher resolution and frame rate on Windows 10, there’s a chance.

But honestly, this is pretty much the answer MS (and other devs) give when asked about a PC version. Pretty sure they've said something similar about the X1 halo games

The other thread's about the Xbox One version. I'd say the 'possible' announcement is pretty much confirmation it's going to happen that's what they did with QB it came from a dev. With Halo it was Phil 'I hear ya' Spencer saying yes to every game coming to PC, clown that he is. I would ignore his drivel and listen for clues from the devs.

While it probably wouldn't surprise anyone if a PC version was released, it's not uncommon for devs to give non-commital answers

Actually that wasn't a non commital answer 'possibly' is a positive answer. 'Anything can happen' is non commital. I first knew QB was coming to PC when Remedy hinted at it. Devs don't play stupid mind games that is the sole preserve of PR clowns like Spencer.

I really hope Gears 4 comes to PC it's literally the only game I'm going to miss if I sell my Xbox One.

Exactly, possibly doesn't have a positive or negative connotation to it, it's no different than saying "we'll see" or "maybe", it's an indefinite answer that could go either direction equally.

People are forming a positive bias like you said because of recent events, nothing more, nothing less.

Of course its coming. You thought the Xbox One had any exclusives in 2016? Think again. No such things as exclusives on an Xbox One. Its a side system of the pc now. Developed for PC and ported for Xbone.

Gears 4 is only going to launch on Xbox One in 2016. They are only working on the console version right now, I doubt they have the resources to make two versions at once.

I thought we knew this already.

Don't care if it comes to PC, as long as X1s library stays better than PS4s, which it has and will. I'm good.

Why do you like the sound of being forced into a specific hardware package to enjoy a game? Options are always nice, it would be great if every company adopted a similar philosophy for games, it would promote higher sales, more revenue for developers, increase the odds of more games being created and offer consumers a choice on what platform they would like to play a game on whether it be PC and PS4 or PC and Xbox.

I have a hard time understanding people promoting pigeonholing for any hardware platform that removes advanced opportunities for games and gamers in general, that doesn't come off as rational to me, it comes off as anti-consumerism and corporate shilling.

@MonsieurX: And? Doesn't mean I want them. The only game Microsoft has had in recent memory that I wanted was something they had to buy timed exclusivity for. Their IPs are trash and on a serious decline. Microsoft hasn't had a new hit IP that was not Kinect game in over a decade. If you care about first party Xbox is easily the worst and and seems to be getting even worse.

Seems MS is trying to push everything to their Windows platform, they might actually exit the closed "console" business after-all. It really seems they are setting up to do that at this point. They aren't just making one or two moves, seems like this is a massive shift of some sort.

Prediction: Xbox is just going to be the brand for a line of HTPC's and PC's going forward. Actually, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Not sure how the market will react though.
