But Playstation users can still play it.......
while supporting ms with games for windows
Gather around kids, it's time to set some things straight.
Microsoft makes a lot of money from PC games sales, when they saw the success of the original Playstation they felt it would threaten PC gaming. So they started to back Sega at the start of the 128-bit era, but Microsoft saw that Sega couldn't hold down the fort. So they took matters into their own hands.
This is where the Xbox comes into play. It's no coincidence that most of the Xbox games got ported to the PC, the reason for this is obvious. Games for Windows is Microsofts bread and butter in gaming. The Xbox is a defensive move against Sony, but it seems that this strategy is evolving.
This time around, they know that in order to get more market share they need to develop and secure exclusives that might not appeal to just PC gamers. But at the same time not alienating their old fanbase. This is where games like Viva Pinata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Beautiful Katamari, Ace Combat 6, Eternal Sonata, Cry On, Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Grand Theft Auto 4 and now Forza 2 expand the user base from just shooters.
Porting successful titles like Gears of War will do 2 things, 1 for all the PS3/PC owners who don't want to buy an Xbox 360, it'll get them to buy the game for their PC. There's a large chance this will attract more people to the Xbox platform, at worst it'll generate more revenue. 2, people who only play on the Xbox 360 will see games going to the PC and this could very well spark an interest in PC gaming to the more casual player.
Don't ever forget Microsoft runs the PC market. Making games like BioShock Games for Windows/Xbox 360 exclusive will get PS3 owners who want to buy the game to make a choice. Buy the Xbox 360 to play it, or buy it for Games for Windows. Either way you're supporting Microsofts game plan.

Yeah on you're word processing struggling PC - right ?If you have a great PC, why spend another 1000.00 on a PS3
MS is stupid for making money on a year old game? :lol:Heil68
No you see, MS is stupid for not abiding by an arbitrary System Wars policy that determines the winner of the console wars. TC should be running MS marketing department, he knows how this stuff works.:P
Since gears of war is not exclusive anymore, this just proves how stupid microsoft is for letting it go to the PC. Important excluive games such as bioshock was also on the PC, and halo 3 will soon follow. Anyways, this means that the xbox 360 technically has more less exclusives then the ps3, because it loses it to the PC.hurmatps3
huh?
You know I see so little logic put into words here;Gather around kids, it's time to set some things straight.

Yes because Gears of War for the 360 is what is going to push sales this year.
Does this really change Gears from being an exclusive if Gears is just gonna be on Microsoft? Its kind of like a game for Wii also being for DS. No matter what though, nothing other than a microsoft platform will have this game.shaji84
if it can be played somewhere else, it's not exclusive. the pc is not a microsoft platform.

Mabye you can look for a gaming forum entitled, "Company Wars", but your in System Wars, and here individual systems compete, not the companies behind them.

although it is still exclusive to a Microsoft platform (Games for Windows) because gfw IS a Microsoft platform...

not really. it's more of a promotion. you're playing the games on a pc.

His point is this doesn't hurt Microsoft nor does it hurt the 360 at all. Nor did Halo 2 going PC hurt Xbox or 360 nor did Kotor hurt MS or Xbox. Regardless of this being System Wars, Microsoft is still making money. Pc does not compete with consoles. It's in a market of it's own.

I'm not sure how all the 360 AAA exclusives minus Gears of War equals less than zero either.

A) The PC does compete with consoles. This is System Wars, not console wars.
B) The PC is an open platform, Microsoft doesn't own it. They actually PAY developers to use GFW, rather than receive licensing fees like on the 360.
C) Gears of War is also going to MAC.
Well darn, I guess Microsoft truly was wrong for caring more about how much one of its system's best games sells than said game causing its system to lose an AAAE.
What were you thinking, Microsoft?

It's called business and catering to your potential customers. Sorry if making money is against your ideas of what is important. The more money they make, the more they spend to create and bring other great games to the 360 for me to play. If you don't get that then don't ever start a business.
lol, yeah. it really hurts the 360 not having that game from a year ago that scored AAA that we're all pretty much completely done with and that pretty much nobody will be rushing out buying a 360 to play.
nice try. whatsamatter? nothing to play on the PS3? warhawk getting a bit stale? it'll be ok.... just wait.

yes by giving money to M$ to play it , seriously get some logic kids.
M$ is only making more money off this

This kind of stuff only matter to people in a site like this who argue stuff that people who aren't here could care less about.
Just like when someone goes to ask about Halo 3 in a store how many of them do you believe ask if Halo 3 is on PC?
Getting tired of people not seeing the fact that if MS believed doing close work with the Xbox and PC was hurting business they would stop it. Obviously they WANT to do it. And either way they are making money and brancing off into the PC market as well.

It's all about people trying to press a point as fanboys. Notice these threads are made by Cows most of the time, when you'd expect Hermits to be making them?
