People like to complain about the rather miniscule advantage hosts sometimes tend to have in the game.  I'm not gonna be so brash to say that there isn't a host advantage, but it's a far cry from ruining the game.

Maybe you should move away from your 128K DSl connection. I ave no lag issues at all.

Well having slower bullets really is a big disadvantage, also when having USA hosts its impossible to win with shotgun battles. No offence against the hosts, they cant help it, its just the distance, were playing over seas and land ofcours, the game plays well tough when having Dutch or UK hosts.

People complain about me being host even when I'm not host. They just need something to blame to cover up their lack of skill. 

My brother and I were talking about how Epic should make a multiplayer map with that 2nd to last picture.

I tought the update was against glitches alone, its a 512kb internet speed tough, its not that horrible, I think.

I don't believe so, but I could see MS doing it for Vista games. 

In any fashion, if it were to come to PC it wouldn't be for years ala Halo 2.  At that time the next installment would be out.  If you want to play the game, get an Xbox 360 it's that simple.

$40 a year. Amazon.com 13 month subscription cards are offered for $40 routinely. If you use Google checkout you can get the card for $30.

The new maps looks pretty sweet - are they doing th same thing they did with Halo 2? Timed releases? Meaning that the maps will be free for everyone in six months?

I win shotgun battles all the time. Sadly you've been indoctrinated like so many people who play gears of war into simply yelling "OMG HOST ADVANTAGE!" whenever you're killed. I'm frequently accused of being host whenever i play; and i hardly ever host games.

There is a lot of truth to this - I know people who will bounce in and out of Halo games, simply saying "lag" or "hacks!" whenever they're in a game where they're getting beaten. The problem with these kind of gamers is that they never improve, so to them the world is full of lag and cheaters. You will never become better at a game by avoiding your hardest battles.

And tell me that the third map does not look like Midgar? By the time I finally get my 360 to play my copy of Gears of War, it seems like there's going to be dozens of maps to play on, awesome.

Nah, its doesn't look better. But it has a better framerate and way better online experience. 40 people >> 8 people. With 40 people GeoW would't look as good and/or the framerate would halt to a stop. Not to metion there's not alot of hosts that can compete with resistance's dedicate servers. Its really good online.

I've stopped playing GeoW after 2 weeks when it became the shotgun fest. I really liked it in the beginning when it was played like it should. Now its just run up to your oponent, start blind firing that shotgun and hope he goes down. 

 

 

 

 

this looks like Midgar from Final Fantasy VII, extremely awesome. Now we can relive the "shinra's coming to get us" scene where biggs and wedge are shooting machine guns from the tower...

man, alot of you people are in deniel thinking that Gears of Wars don't have lag.  Whoever is hosting the game, has no lag whatsoever on there screen. If you have a slow connection and you are host, the people who are not host will fire there bullets and it will sometimes take a second to fire and get to its destinated target. The key to finding a good game is to find someone you know that has a awesome connection and have them  host a game, and when the other people are not hosting, there will be little to almost no lag in the game.   So ya, to all those people that play and always host a game and say, hey there no lag, is pretty BS. Because I rarely host a game, and I can tell you for a fact that Lag is in the game, but when the person hosting thinks he has a good connection, because hes host, but their connection speed is really slow, they just cant tell becuase there hosting, affects how good everybody's connection speed is aswell which is why people complain about host advantage.  Don't get me wrong, Im a straight up killer in this game, but I know whats up.  In a match with 15 round of excution, I have 46 kills and thats playing against a Host who was talking alot of trash thinking he was good. Lucky for me though he had a very fast connection and he was host so his advantage was cut down in half with almost no lag on my part as well.  The point Im trying to make is, alot of you people talk as there is no Lag in gears whatsoever, but there is plenty of lag in gears and you guys just need to quit lying to everybody telling them theres no lag.  And for those who suck, too bad, your just not good enough for this game.  

PS those maps look great but not worth paying.  Microsoft greedy as bastards won't let them release there content for free. Bi$h@s

I know, right? It's ridiculous how I keep expecting Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and the Turks to run across that screenshot at any second. Egads! I must pick up a 360 to see the FF7 ripped goodness, now with more bullets!
