Gears of War still the most graphically impressive console game released?

Heavenly Sword is better. Not just graphically, but in terms of the voice acting and audio. Heavenly Sword uses HD Audio (LPCM 7.1), whereas Gears of War is stuck with audio from 2 generations ago (Dolby Digital)

Heavenly Swords Textures are horridly under detailed and smudgy compared to GEOW.

I don't know why people won't just admit that Gears isn't the top dog anymore when it comes to graphics.

So many games look pretty amazing and are just as impressive. Yes including a few PS3 games.

Ah, I forgot. BioShock is better than Gears and HS. The detailed environments, lighting, water effects, and so on. It just is more of the complete package.BioShockOwnz

Halo 3 does not have better textures than Gears of War. Halo 3s textures are far less resolution than Gears.

Bioshock allready beat it.

Also Gears is better than heavenly sword its not close IMO. The game is far more detailed with better lighting. HS does have better animations though.jg4xchamp

Nope Gears looks better than Bioshock because Epic screwed every developer over with a shoddy version of UE3 to make

Epic's games look better.... on UE3.

Too human are suing Epic for the giving them a gimped version of UE3.

that is why UE3 looks best with EPIC's games.

UT3 and Gears for example.

Yup, I agree. I overused bloom in some levels in HS is really a killer.

I wish I could turn it off....

In all 100% honesty as a PS3 and Xbox 360 owner.

That has brought Gears at it's launch and Rent HS on PS3.

Both on the same HDTV 720p Mind you.

HS doesn't hold a Candle to what Gears (graphically).

I am not a great fan of Bioshocks graphics, the artwork is fine though. Just look at those splicers or that other stuff ... i dont know, Gears still looks better to me.

Heavenly Sword ... impressive it is, but it doesnt stand a direct comparison with gears. Sorry ... i compared the games for quite some time now. But its a great looking and feeling game nonetheless.

Everyone that has seen Gears,Bioshock and HS on my setup is the same opinion, even my die-hard-cow-friend :)

P.S. Actually i think Halo3 has some great graphics ... seems i am one of few here hehe.

nope, forget everything and listen to this....i paused the saved video i was watchingand zoomed in on gernades in Halo 3 multiplayer and the texturing still looked good even with that much zoom, nothing looked pixelated and that is just nades, you could clearly see scratches on nades etc etc zoom in on nades in gears and they look horrible.....again these are just nades, so far nothing has low res textures in halo 3 not even nades....ok Gears might have some high rez textures here and there but not everywhere

I found the audio in Gears to be dull. You could tell it was only Dolby Digital. Heavenly Sword had a great musical score and you could tell that much of the Blu-Ray disc was used for the LPCM 7.1 track.

Staying within comparable genres, I would think that Lost Planet, Heavenly Sword, Halo 3, Bioshock (I hold them on the same level really, but for certain reasons I put Bioshock above) are better looking games.

I would have said Lair although there's a lot preventing me, on a technical level however I would think that it's more complex than Gears. Despite massive amounts of suck.

The screen tearing and framerate issues in Lair hold it back from being technically amazing.

I don't know, I'm really liking Halo 3's graphics probably because they're so vivid, colorful, lots of great lighting, great texturing, very long draw distances, great particle effects.

It's at the beginning of every load, hence level and MP load. It last a whopping 3 seconds per hour of gameplay. If that "ruins" gears for you, I suggest help.

Have you guys played Clive Barker's Jericho demo? That game looks better than Gears of war IMO, or at least on the par as gears of war.

no it doesn't the textures are all muddy and ugly, the characters models are outstanding but other than that the game looks horrid.

For the record, I will state that the new graphics king on the Xbox 360 come November will be Mass Effect. That game looks freaking spectacular.thinicer

I agree. All the textures glisten and have a wet look to them. The Jericho demo was amazing.

i dont own a ps3 but im 100% sure HS looks 10x better then those screenshots, screenshots dont do game a justice, just take a screenshot in Halo 3 and then look at it, it will look so lame
