Gears of war will win

you know when Gears comes out people are goign to be playing this game nonstop regardless of the complaints. It's going to be hugely popular. People **** and moaned about halo and how it wasnt that great but people play that game like crack. Gears 2 is going to be the same thing. This is something where the ps3 fails imo is having games that really get other people involved. Gears, Halo, Too Human are all going to be very popular online. the ps3 yet has any title that matches up with these games. They are trying to get resistance to be that game, little big planet, but it's still not going to match up with the popularity of gears. I see Resistance more as a better perfect dark. The thing is it's probably a better game in a lot of regards but it's missing something as far as online crack.

gears will slap around resistence liek it did 2 years ago.

it's clearly obvious that nothing sony has this year will stand up to the popularity and user base of XBL things might change, but at the moment the 360 is the weapon of choice for online gameing, even multiplats like COD4 have more people playing on XBL than PSN, to be fair to the ps3 they are a long way behind in the online gaming stakes and microsoft have nearly 20 years of experience with everything online through there dealings with there own product (windows) sony will catch up eventually but not this year.delta3074

Honestly, when you have over 100k+ people playing at any given moment (ps3 and 360) how many more people are playing on either versions doesn't really matter..

people will be playing CoD4 more then Tears of War 2. you can play CoD4 on a PS3 or an X360.GUNpoint_

No I don't think so. People stop playing COD4 after the 10th prestige. Gears will knock COD4 off the throne. Gears 1 is still a fun game to play despite the fact that it's been out for so long.

I was under the impression you were a fanboy and not a gamer my bad.. And yes if Gears 2 stays with the online formula as the first one and decided to uses dedicated servers instead of X360 host games then I can see it being huge. Online wasn't amazing but, it was so incomplete that anything could happen and that is what made it so entertaining. Smoke tags are still one of the most humorous things I've seen in MP.lvgaming

I'm a gamer. I like games of all types. I just think Gears is the best pure action game around right now and it's going to be big. People thinking it's not going to be huge are nutso is all.

Not really. After the original Gears my hopes aren't very high. Most sequels are worse then the original and I'd be shocked if Gears 2 is better then the 1st one which was okay but the storymode was pretty bad and much too short IMO. I'm not into playing shooters online so the games only selling point doesn't matter to me.

don/t assume the story this time around will suck, they hired Joshua Ortega who has written many comic book and graphic novel stories, including Spiderman, Batman, Starwars and Star Trek

Joshua Ortega's story in Spider-Man Unlimited #8 was great, I hope he brings the same to Gears 2.no_handlebars

i know that was a great comic, he also wrote a story for the Legends of The Dark Knight (batman) i think it was called "the Gun" that was real good
