Genres that need revival.

There are games that exist that look amazing. There are games that don't exist that sould amazing. What about genres? For the last decade, the popularity of the FPS and the RPG have skyrocketed. What genres would you like to see more of?

For me, I would like more point and click adventure games:

And shoot em ups, a genre that is so long gone tht games are often difficult to find:

wth do u mean?... there are still like 3-4 good adventure games coming out each year for the PC.

I rly like point and click adventures, but playing them all the time is not my cup of tea (accounts for most ppl).
Shooters i can play all the time, action games and RPGs too :). And it aint just me.

I kinda miss the days when there were tons of 3D platformers.

I know it's not a dead genre, but series like Spyro and Crash have gone downhill, and it looks like we won't see another 3D DK game any time soon. Mega Man Legends was awesome, but that specific series has been dead for years.

Point and click adventure games aren't many people's cup of tea. It requires plenty of thinking and isn't very appealing for this get up and go generation of gamers.

The only thing gone in SHMUPS is creativity. The genre is still going. There have been several ones released this year.Panzer_Zwei

Zack and Wiki will be the revival of the point and click genre. And I would also like to see more games like Odin's Spherehamstergeddon

2D fighters definitely. We need Street Fighter 4! Also, on the 3D side of fighters, I'd like to see some new franchises aside from Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive (not that those are bad...)
