So that's where all that money he got from his supporters ended up being spent, he gave it to the EFF for the following reason:

Yeah, he recieved more than $10k, a lot of it was spent in court and such (I believe) and there was some left over. He gave the leftovers to EFF.

Of course, but I'm pretty sure that's not Geohotz' intention, the organizations goal is different than Geohotz', his goal by donating to them is to get rid of anything that doesn't let him hack.

But I agree with the guy above that says this is probably the "closest" place the money could go as far as living up to the original doners intentions.
