I think the issue with sony is with him spreading his findings around. I mean.. other than piracy, have people been using this for anything else? The legal term for this is recklessness.. and hotz knew what releasing the code would do, he's no idiot.

One could say it was a protest for Sony clamping down on their system, reniging on promises they made at launch... In the end I am all for this.. I really could care less about the guy, but its hilarious hypocritical some of these people are.. They demonize this guy for giving more access to teh consumer, while they demonize the companies wanting to end the used games industry or to at least curve it.

4 PS3s, Could have had linux on one and used the others for PSN or gameplay.

How is that a Stalling Tactic from Sony?

His an idiot , he had no right spreading that key around the web, if he just made some kind of homebrew software thats fine but no the main key that unlocks the ps3. Now we have cheats in almost all the games, people playing pirated games ! Does anyone here get what i mean ? And you want to back this guy? Whatever.

I had never heard of SCEA before coming to these boards. Ask yourself would you have heard of SCEA before going to/hanging out ata gaming website? Really, seriously, you think most people with a gaming console know about or give a crap about SCEA, or SCEE or Nintendo America?

I have never taken the plastic off my manuals. In fact, I don't even know if the manuals are wrapped in plastic or not :)

But I did keep my box, mostly I think in case I want to repackage my PS3 if I move or something, probably also as a place to keep the manuals that I have never touched, and partially because it was the special MGS4 bundle box and the art work is reasonably cool.
