Except a year has gone by, and the gameplay aged. The same thing happened when Halo 2 went to the PC and happens in all other delayed ports.

Waiting for the CoD4 review, and not worrying about a 9.6 title I played a year ago.

if we are to take GS' word as truth (and we do, this is SW) thenit is indeed better.

Of course, the rest of Gears of War is completely intact here, as well. And the complete package, done better than it was on the Xbox 360, is exactly the sort of mind-blowing that you might need to drop everything if you haven't already played it.

I'm sure it's the better version and all, but I've already played it to death.

Although I agree with you, I'm not sure if you're comprehending it right.

That first line just means there's more packed into it than the 360 version of Gears.

The actual statement that it's better than the 360 version is halfway down the review.

Perhaps you could explain it to me then. It seems to me that GS says that Gears is done better on the PC, done better. Nota better version.

Gears was first released November 2006 to immense critical acclaim and went on to win many awards, among them being overall GOTY, Xbox 360 GOTY, and multiplayer GOTY. Now in November 2007 Gears is ported and released on the PC, with slightly increased visuals (depeding solely on the machine it is being run on). How well will this version be excepted save for the inevitable stream of AAA and AA reviews?

GS said that the new chapters aren't as good as the older ones, what about new maps? Is there anything new to this version that makes it stand out beside the 360 Gears that was released last year and has lost a portion of its following from all the problems that plague its online?

Finally, why is Gamespot so slow nowadays? The only review they got more than a day before hand since last year was Halo 3, and now they don't even get games like CoD4 when the embargo is lifted and everyother website gets it out the exact second.

And I know some will say that Gamespot likes to finish the game and get a quality review, I understand that, but all the other sites had quality reviews, infact the IGN one, now I don't even like IGN, but they had a 4 page review, when was the last time Gamespot had a review of 4 pages or over?

I don't think anyone can really debate whether the PC version is better or not. It's just that not many people care. This game is old news.

looks like you didnt read it right....

they say the new chapters are good...just out of place because they are different than all the other GEOW levels because their more open.

there are also 3 new maps...

1 new mode....

and a map editor....

If by "fact" you mean "opinion."

There's no difference between the two versions, except for that the PC version has better graphics, more chapters, new maps, and the editor (which is a HUGE advantage over the 360 version). So yeah, it is a fact.

That last part is the most important bit.

So um, reading comprehension must fail some people, eh? "IT SAYS IN THE FIRST LINE OF THE REVIEW THAT THE PC VERSION IS BETTER."

First line of the review: "Released near the end of the Xbox 360's first year on the market, Gears of War was a defining moment for Microsoft's console."

Now that we cleared that up, it does say that "The PC version of Gears of War is everything the 360 version was and more." This does not mean that it is better. It means it has more features, and they are very good. No matter how you look at it, 9.6 is > 9.0 (if the PC version had gotten a 9.5, I would be more willing to listen to the 'PC version is better' arguments).
