Okay: Gears of War PC dominates everything (save Crysis, save World in Conflict, save UT3 PC)....

But I think that Gears of War 360 is not the best looking console game out...

Lair would've been great if it wasn't for pop-in, screen tearing, and a choking framerate every once in a while. If you get that kind of performance, then it's not so hot. Gears and Heavenly Sword own that abortion of a game.

it's no use arguing with a fanboy so i made a poll to see what the majority thought. everyone's already seen the screenshots and the videos, no use showing them again. got a problem?

Isn't that what I just said? You're relying on the majority opinion of fan-driven people to vindicate your position as a Gears fanatic. You already know for a fact that most of the people who come to this thread will automatically vote for Gears since this board is infested with Microsoft consumers. It's be more clever it wasn't so transparent.

And, of course, as a way of stymieing(sp) dissension, you call anyone who disagrees with you a "fanboy."

You flip-flop quite a bit. Probably an attempt at trying to seem moderate and impartial.

Pulling screens isn't going to do anything for your argument.

Gears mechanics weren't even able to fit more than 3 enemies on the screen at a time. Heavenly sword had hundreds of enemies on screen at once on top of having better resolution and it didn't even chug. Gears was too ambitious for the 360, which is why it ended up with frame-rate issues and limited environment.

Gears of War and Bioshock. I have seen this thread multiple times and Gears always wins. Why then do we keep having this same discusion?rexoverbey

I still maintain that Lair looks better, it accomplished the goal of being a visual and audio tour deforce (in fact its audio has been nominated for an award recently..), unfortunately Factor Five fscked up everything else.

gears FTW, lair is just a terrible game and HS is nice looking but just not all there. nice enviroments is all it gots.JetB1ackNewYear

If you prefer the imagery of Gears over Heavenly Sword, that's fine. But the graphics are not subjective. There was far more work and polish put into Heavenly Sword.

Please try to understand that no one really cares if you have both systems. So perhaps it would be better if you didn't prelude all of your replies with 'I have both systems" as if you're impartial or know everything there is to know about the games.

I'll give credit where credit is due..Gears is a great looking game but I've never cared for it artistically and that particular shot doesn't do it any favors. The lighting in that shot eliminates detail and makes it look little better than some places in Guild Wars Factions (if better at all).

HS is the best game graphically to me. The final battle is just too much. Hundreds of enemies on the screen with huge catapults(sp?) is just amazing. The art direction and colors of HS just did me in.

Lair and Gears both look awesome, but like said earlier, Gears is just too restrictive and Lair has framerate issues that really plague the graphics.

And if you want to bring up sound, Lair is hands down the best. The soundtrack for that game is amazing not to mention it supports 7.1 surround and I think TrueHD.
