Please don't assume LBP will sell as well as GeoW, or DMC 4, for that matter. It's not gonna be a system seller, its a new franchise, it'll break a million, cause of internet hype.
LBP 2 might be a system seller, but not LBP.
Anyway, even if it possibly could, there is no doubt GeoW 2 is gonna stifle its hype, GeoW 2 could stifle any games hype except GTA or SSB at this point.

lol they arnt even similar man they are completely differnt so no gears is not a LBP killer. sony better advertise it
they are completely different... LBP is an original concept of a game though ambitious and seems like it will bring something fresh to gaming... Am totally looking forward to LBP..
However you cannot compare them, first let's see some in-game footage and gameplay action regarding GeOW since I am not that optimistic it will be launched this November... Still am sure will enjoy GeOW at my friend's house, since the first one was great..
If you want to compare GeOW 2 to another game would make more sense if it was released same month with MGS IV... Cause that would be one hell of a sales battle :)
Not to add insult to injury, though as yet nothing shown at GDC, Kim, talking about, check My Sig.:) will be available holiday 2008 so Gears 2 is going to own but for people looking at Platformers, Ahem....... Just Saying.
GeoW2 will steal hype but it won't determine itself to be any better than Little Big Planet. As, we don't know. To be honest, I'm still looking forward to LBP. GeoW2 doesn't interest me for various reasons. I know the actual Gameplay is fun but everything else about the game makes it droning for me. At least LBP is something a bit refreshing.
Though hype: GeoW2>LBP. Just because Microsoft is going to do what it does best, milk the hell out of big titles like that. I'll drive by launch and compare my Halo 3 launch photos.
