Ghost of Tsushima makes Assassin's Creed a masterpiece. Max Payne gameplay saved the day.

The game feels... very empty. Incredibly underwhelming, weak AI, combat was really boring looking.

AC: Unity still looks like a next gen game. The last genuine assassins creed game.

Well GoT will get free pass coz it's a Sony game.

It looks like Sekiro mixed with Red Dead II and a hint of Ass Creed.

Look at the rock's texture in GoT. Graphics king right there.

You can definitely see the hardware limitations and open-world flaws at work, but I still think I'll enjoy it a lot, and LOL at AC. Doesn't take much to improve on it

REJOICE! AC is crawling back to an actual stealth game. Maybe in a couple more installments we might actually have a legit stealth game on our hands.

I always thought that making the hidden blade a non-instant-kill was a huge mistake; glad Ubisoft agrees.

While "next-gen" is a bit of an exaggeration, the game looks simply stunning to this day. The attention to detail, specifically textures, is mind-blowingly good. I wish I had my old computer, I took some screenshots that showed off all the detail; gold leaf on palace walls, stuff like that...even the rooftops were beautiful.

Gameplay was sweet, too; it was arguably the first AC game to have the "modern" AC combat system, but still had great stealth mechanics.

Quite honestly one of the more underappreciated and overlooked games of all time.

Fun fact: Ubisoft did so much research, took so many pictures and 3D scans of Notre Dame cathedral (featured in AC Unity) that the French government was able to use them as a resource for its restoration after it burned down.

Both are likely a hard no. I haven't played an asscreed game since Black Flag and I likely never will again.

Sucker Punch and the Infamous series was just ok and seemed to get slightly worse each time, even though they tried to fix some of the flaws of the first game. However, the real issue is open world.

What I saw of the demo looked like a whole lot of riding for nothing to get to nothing except the stupid irrelevant shit that developers put in their open world games to justify it being open world in the first place....boring, repetitive, pointless filler.

Why are people comparing this game to AC so hard?

Ghost looks nice but really generic. Unity was shit. AC Odyssey actually is a masterpiece and is my game of this gen. Such a fantastic game to play.

I don't like Ninja/Samurai type games so Ghost isn't a game for me (I never played Sekiro and I love all the Souls games) but honestly without bias the gameplay previews show me a game I've played a million times before. Nothing special going on here at all.

AC Unity was trash, I am not even that hyped for Ghost of Tsushima but I would bet it's at least better than AC Unity.

After we saw the latest gameplay, GoT does in fact share AC gameplay movement and stealth kills as if you are playing Odyssey. To be frank, GoT is like AC: Odyssey and Tenchu had a baby. (And a little Way of the Samurai)

I hope GoT has a reverse blade sword. I want to play and try not to kill anyone if that's possible. I don't wanna kill my enemies, just incapacitate the few who surrenders to me.

This looks underwhelming.

30 FPS is an automatic pass for me. I'll get it if it gets ported to the ps5 and gets a 60 fps patch.

If you're talking about the old gameplay then that would be Syndicate. Also good riddance because the old gameplay got stale.

You can definitely smell the fires coming from the Xbox crowd. They need that show in July RIGHT now so they can save face. This is the "Wait until E3" crowd in action all over again for another generation. All those chintzy games they got this year still don't hold a candle to Sony's AAA heat.

A tad concerned over GoT looking a bit too similar to AC, being a checklist chore fest bore of a slog, but the lethality of the combat and setting has me intrigued.

but the frame rate jumped so much in that game. it's also the smallest ac open world. they wanted a more open feel in there later games.

unity is not even close as big as ghost map. there is more happening in the back ground. wind, the smoke stacks in the far distant. etc. the world in unity was just a city that didn't have much to it other than structures.

plus ghost is going for a different art style.

also has real life combat. I like to see you get hit with a sword once and tell me if your still alive or be able to keep fighting. there not going for sponge combat.

open world games has been done way before ac has done it. side quest are not just for ac games. they all have them.

at least there are not high towers to climb to get more of the map.

Interesting to see how they will sell the Vikings as the oppressed underdogs like the other Assassins when you consider they were rapacious conquerors, pillagers and rapists not to mention slavers. They held my country to ransom for a long time. And who are the "villains" in this game? Alfred the Great? One of our greatest heroes who finally kicked out these invaders? I get the impression they don't like us very much at Ubisoft.

It reminds me way more of Breath of the Wild. The whole nature thing and exploring the terrain have a very BOTW vibe to it.

or it will just be a straight up glorification of evil, that might actually make a good ac game, but then you have of course the fact that it is rooted in history, which makes it offensive.

Sony's console end cycle swansong games is always something to look forward to. Last gen we get Last of Us and Puppeteer. This gen they do even further with Nioh 2, TLoU2 & GoT. Its incredible I'd say.

Though in GoT not loving the (?) Marker when opening the map in gameplay trailer. Hopefully its something players add like in BoTW where we can add marker of what we seen and want to go. Hated it in Horizon where its full of icons in map. Love Horizon to bits but really not loving clearing those markers.

It just annoys me. We Brits were the baddies in AC3? of course, it was about the american revolution. How could we not be? But vikings? They butchered and conquered us! There is a reason I have some Scandinavian DNA in me, and it's not because one of my ancestors hopped over to Denmark for some bacon. I'm hoping the lead character goes through a lazarus style conversion where he sees the villain of the piece Alfred (and his nephew Edward and niece Aethelflaeda, one of my local heroes) is actually just protecting his people and ends up fighting his own vikings. That would make sense at least.

The problem with Assassins Creed games is that the story behind the game and it's quests feel like they have been written by some hardcore Marxist university student who likes to think of their rebellious nature as edgy. The characters were all so pretentious and boring. You would have to be naive to think you were anything other than the bad guy. A story about Bad guys vs bad guys, i'm too old for all that pretentious nonsense. If you want a more mature RPG play Kingdom Come or Red dead Redemption 2
