Looks like cross between metal gear solid 5 and far cry...

Damn I was hoping the singleplayer campaign was co-op as well?
It's not? Didn't watch the video but I had the clear impression that you can play the whole game in co-op.
I played the Alpha of Wildlands and got bored of it really quick.
The game looks amazing and the world map is nice but that is about it. Another game that is "huge" but lacks any substantial depth to it.
You go to one area of the map to kill someone, extract someone, or do some other lame fetch quest. While in area, you can free some captured people that make it easier to finish your objective. Done. Move on to the next mission and do the same thing.
I'm hoping it is better but these Ubisoft Open World games are getting boring.
I think I will pass on this one. It's just not resonating with me much. I feel like I'm getting similar kicks elsewhere.
Nope, looks too bland for me to bother with.
This. Ubisoft games just feel so bland these days :/
Feel no excitement for Watch Dogs 2, For Honor or this one.
I agree with both of you. like i said. its far cry in third person with squad commands now.
all ubisoft games feel same. all of them are either assassisns creed clones or far cry clones.
Outside of the latest rainbow six, is Ubisoft trying to make their games look as generic as possible? This looked incredibly bland.

It's a shame really because Ubisoft games have some interesting worlds, and the graphics always look great too.
But the game itself, and more importantly the gameplay feels like the developers are ticking some kind of checkbox, instead of offering people enthralling or captivating gameplay.
It got my attention recently. Just wish it's completely FPS.
Same here. I like the limitations of an FPS in a more sim-light environment.
Yeah, that is what the shooter genre should really go for this gen rather than the on-rails bullet sponge nonsense. I find the latter pretty much unacceptable anymore. I know people hated on the Operation Flashpoint games from last gen because they weren't as "hardcore" as the original PC game or compared to ARMA, but those were actually two of my favorite FPS campaigns of the gen.
Yes, Operation Flashpoint tried to copy Call of Duty a bit in the 2nd one and the story was horribly forgettable, but I just much prefer the semi-open world with vehicles, different strategies, somewhat realistic bullet damage, and ability to issue squad commands, etc. I really don't even care about the story at all in "military" FPS games, I would rather just have hours and hours of open world missions to complete using different tactics - of course if online is great I might get hooked there too, but unless it's Battlefield its really tough to get me venturing into online at all anymore. If this game is that open world style, at least the campaign is far more interesting to me than just about any other shooter.

Yeah, they probably need to mix it up with their genres. You have Just Cause, Far Cry, and now Ghost Recon all looking sort of similiar this gen. They all seem high quality though, so you have to give them that. Personally, I've only played Assassin's Creed recently (which they are finally giving a rest). Haven't touched Far Cry, so this might scratch that itch for me (open world military shooter).
I think the last squad based shooter I played was Ghost Recon Future Soldier last gen, and that was enjoyable enough just for the campaign.
Looks assembled from other Ubi games (FarCry, Splinter Cell, the Division). Lacks identity and I could not spot a single interesting mechanic. Not for me tbh.
@Sushiglutton:
I hope Ubisoft doesn't use their open-world template for the new Beyond Good & Evil game. That game has an identity of its own that I hope Ubisoft keep in tact.
They have done such a wonderful job with the Rayman series in recent years. I hope they do the same with Beyond Good & Evil too.

Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis/Resistance expansion had one of the best campaigns in a shooter EVER. Shame the official campaigns since have been such a joke compared to that. (as most all shooter campaigns have been in recent years)
I was pretty excited for this game a while back, but the more I see of it, the less I care.
It's probably gonna be like MGSV with a much, MUCH better open world, but minus the sweet ass mechanics, level design, interactivity, and attention to detail.
I still think I'll pick it up, but I think it'll wear thin pretty quickly. One of those games I'd enjoy for 10-15 hours and never touch again. Hope I'm wrong, but that's what the gut tells me.
@ConanTheStoner: Bro, you wanna play a good stealth game after MGSV, Hitman really is the only option lol. That game's sweet.
@charizard1605:
Yeah, Hitman is top titty, I need to finish up those last couple of missions. I want to move on with it, but I keep replaying older missions instead. Which really just speaks to how excellent the replay value is.

Yeah, I'm still on Marrakesh, because of how ridiculously fun attempting to meet all the objectives is. The game is basically a series of confined sandboxes, IO hit it out of the park with that one.
Have you done any Elusive Targets yet? I've so far failed at every single one of them lmao

Nah, haven't even attempted one yet, but it's really a great idea for that kind of game. So far I'm just going at the main targets in different ways.

I gotta admit, I was mad skeptical of Hitman, and its episodic 'game as service' model, but it's more than justified itself at this point. I'm really pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out.
Disgustingly Borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring. I don't like the whole Drug Cartel anti-drug premise.
I prefer a more political contemporary military anti-terrorist theme.
Looks like a boring open world third-person to first-person cover shooter with x-ray vision(Seeing the enemy markers above heads through walls.) You probably could've just rambo'd the entire thing without effort without doing the stealth bit unless I missed something.
No thanks, I'm good. If I were still 12 years old I'd buy it.
