yeah, but in those cases, it was simply the natural variances in opinions. they use a .25 increment scoring system, so they are currently less lax than GS. for the most part, they have the same opinions as the gaming community, while GS is always surprising people with their scores.

GI's 10s are not Gamespots version of a 10. A perfect game in GI has to score an 11. They said it's never happened and probably never will. All those games you mentioned are the equivalent of GS rating it a 9. Which is a fair rating for those blockbuster games.

well u said most credible. if anything they are to easy and to hard at the same time. unless its Ninja Gaiden and they struggle at the game they score the games like a 5 and they give 9s way to much IMO. seriousaly GI is basically to nice for its own good, but i get it most people wouldnt buy there mags if they didnt show off all those "amazing games"

because a 10 should be given to a once in a while game. im saying be tougher on games a little. I like GS because a AAA on this site 80% of the time is for a game that deserves it. sure PDZ and Warioware break the rule here and there. but GI a 9 is not hard to get. Darkness was an 8.75 so was Lost Planet. Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Fight Night round 3, and Super Paper Mario(all 3 good games no lie) they got AAAs. They are good but come on nothing special really.

I don't understand why it's a bad thing for Bioshock to be compared on the same level as God of War, GTA, and Resident Evil 4? Didn't that last game get Game of the Year last year here at GameSpot? And Bioshock got the same score as that GOTY? Well, that is great!

no its not bad. he said the magazine is credible. it had nothing to do with bioshock. look at my sig i have it reserved(although if i didnt i could have just went to toys r us today :( ). anyway point is im saying GI sucks, cause they give 10s to everything. If Bioshock got less than a 10 on GI, id be stunned silent.
maybe it's not that GI is too generous, maybe the reason they have given so many 10s is because games are getting better? maybe there are just so many awesome games out there worthy of 10s, that it seems unusual at first to see so many perfect reviews. GI themselves explained that scientists in Nevada used a particle accelerator to synthesize pure Awesonium, the element used in 10-caliber games. Awesonium is now making it's way into many developer's hands. ;)
