"The way you interact with games and the services offered by each company are going to become the new terms to define exclusivity"

Given the high development costs and - as a consequences - more and more devs embracing the multiplat world, I think that's what the future is gonna look like. Games won't be the most important factor to determine "exclusivity", and next gen that is gonna be even more evident, in my opinion.

so, what do you think? how'd you like such an eventuality? Would you jump on the new thing or opt out buying the new consoles?

I hope this won't happen, but I see it likely, and if it happens, it'll be the day that I become a retrogamer.

thoughts?

As long as there are games to play that I found worthwhile I could care less if they are exclusive or multiplatform..

If they follow Nintendo it is Bright. Nintendo got all the Casual stuff out of the way so they are now trying to get the Casuals into more core games. Why Sony and Microsoft are going after the crowd Nintendo is now trying to get to be core gamers.

Nintendo is going back to their roots which I really like. I was quite disappointed with them after the release of the Wii, although there were a few good games like LoZ: TP and Mario Galaxy it was quite clear that their main audience was casual gamers. But now they're bringing back old and loved franchises, which is great.

yes, but peripherals will be the new thing, not pure games' exclusives anymore.

I think the future is gonna speak Pc for me. there's just less and less point in owning a console anymore, unless you are so desperate to play the handful of good exclulsives being released for consoles. so much for Pc dying out...
