Loved it. The game looks great, and did not slow down even a tiny bit on my computer maxed out at 1680*1050. Runs much better then Supreme Commander.
The game plays almost exactly like the original game if you still remember it. Everything builds from the construction yard, and is deployed almost instantly once its been built. When buildings are destroyed a few gunman are left behind, you need to build Silos to store excess tiberium, etc. Honestly, its a updated original C&C. Not much more to say. Get the demo now!
I cannot express how well this game runs though. The game loads before you even finish reading the first sentence of your briefing.
Also Jennifer Morrison is one of the actors in the game. Im not gonna lie, i Laughed out Loud when i saw her.
I too was playing the game on max at 1680x1050 resolution and like you said it loads so damn fast and it runs amazingly smooth. It was amazingly fun too.:)

That's all I have been hearing about this game. People just say "OMG IT RUNS SO GREAT AND LOOKS AMAZING", but they say nothing of the gameplay, which scares me.

I have every single C&C game(besides sole suvivor) and almost every single C&C game pack like Worldwide Warfare. I should not leave the console version out of my experience. I doubt I will buy it though....just rent it because the N64 version of C&C was not too good and this game might follow the same path for the Xbox 360.

Yeah Im running everything at max right now but not that high of resolution. Not a slow down whats so ever so far even with tons of guys on the screen. The demo is really fun and addicting. I think I may have to purchase this game.

In terms of performance or gameplay? Performance = way better. At least a 7900GT can max this out no questions asked. Gameplay = the C&C demo was more juicy than the Supreme Commander one. Also, the campaign was much better. However, they're two different styles of RTS and I can't directly compare the gameplay. ;)

The 'Quene Builds and construction' are merely an improvement on what was in TA. And TA was about the most massive game out at the time it came out. All in all SupCom is little more than improvements on the formula TA built, just like CnC 3. Pot calling the Kettle black folks

probably due to the fact that most people dont have a good enough computer to run supreme commander properly. dont bash a game because people dont wanna upgrade yet. for those of us who are upgraded already, or planning to soon, it runs great.

actually no, Theatre of War, Massive Scale, Quene Builds and construction, those with better gfx are SupCom CnC didnt do anything new honestly, most of that stuff was what set the original TA apart from the other games at the time too. especially the massive scale and all... remember big berthas? yeah. that said, i do love supcom.. still making my mind up about c&c, though it IS pretty. i'm still too much in strategy mode to really play the game effectively.
Oh jesus i wish i could play but my pc is so bad. Its from 1997 and im not even sure what brand it is. Its crashed twice and has an 18 gig HD. not sure of the other specs and the sound doesn't works. C&Cis one of my favorite franchises. i had n64 one and all pc ones up to generals. Guess ill hafta wait for the demo on 360. im gonna cry myself to sleep now later.
Runs great, looks great. It's pretty much Tiberian Sun + Generals. It's fun. I'm so very happy about the FMV cutscenes. Seeing Ironside and Boomer in the same scene was awesome.
Of course we're going to see soooo many CnC3 vs. SupCom threads around. Here's the deal: SupCom is more strategic and a bigger game for hardcore RTSers. CnC3 is gears more towards your standard RTS gamer. They're both fun. From what I've seen it looks like CnC is back to greatness.
However there are a few things I hate in every C&C game.
- The view should allow me to zoom out at least by a factor of 2x. This just looks to big and the field of vision is limited. Hell I have to scroll to see my entire base (which sucks). And once you've play Supreme Commander you get spoiled by their zoom out factor :)
- The base building zone. I know it's always there in GDI vs. NOD C&C games, but it really sucks. So I have to make the best out of the space I have, and then place some key structures to make the zone bigger. It still sucks :), wish they would get rid of it and let me place structures wherever I want.
- Maps still seem very small compared to what age we are in right now. I'm not talking SupCom map scale, but some 10kmx10km or even 20kmx20km should be standard by now.
But yes, it plays nice. And I like the Ion Cannon now, it actually does some damage. Before it just bombed a building and even some buildings didn't get destoryed when it hit them directly. C&C games always had problems with Super weapons not being Super at all, but this one seem to have fixed this (a bit).
